Job Description

Position Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific provides differentiated technologies, consulting, and technical solutions across the life sciences value chain, supporting customers from research and development through production. Our customers include biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions, hospitals, government research organizations, and other research- and industry-based customers across Korea.

As a Key Accounts Manager for the Jeolla region, you will manage and grow key customer relationships while developing new business opportunities across Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Gwangju. Based in Hwasun, the role will work closely with customers and internal teams to understand customer needs, local market developments, and emerging projects, and connect them with relevant Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions.

This role combines key account management, new business development, and consultative selling. In addition to growing existing accounts, the role is expected to proactively identify new opportunities arising from regional research programs, bio/medical infrastructure, government-funded projects, and other emerging investments, and support their development into actionable sales opportunities.

The position is an individual contributor role that works collaboratively with relevant sales, technical, application, product, and marketing teams to expand Thermo Fisher Scientific’s presence and support sustainable regional growth.

Coverage

Jeolla region (Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Gwangju)

Office Location

Hwasun, Jeonnam

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account & Business Growth

  • Manage and develop key accounts across the Jeolla region, including biopharmaceutical companies, academia, hospitals, government research institutes, and other relevant customers.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders, including technical users, purchasing teams, project stakeholders, and decision-makers.

  • Develop and execute account and territory plans to support revenue growth, customer engagement, and market expansion.

  • Identify new customers, projects, and business opportunities by understanding customer needs, research priorities, purchasing processes, and market developments.

  • Manage and coordinate sales opportunities from initial identification and qualification through solution development, proposal, negotiation, and implementation in collaboration with relevant internal teams.

Regional Opportunity Development

  • Monitor regional market developments, research priorities, government-funded programs, infrastructure projects, and emerging customer investments to identify potential business opportunities.

  • Build awareness of key regional ecosystems and anchor institutions, including bio/medical, public research, academic, and adjacent industry initiatives, and translate relevant developments into customer and project opportunities.

  • Identify white-space and competitive conversion opportunities by combining customer insight, local market information, and Thermo Fisher Scientific’s portfolio.

  • Support the development of early-stage opportunities into qualified account or project plans with clear next actions.

Consultative Selling & One Thermo Collaboration

  • Apply a consultative and solution-based selling approach to translate customer requirements into relevant technical and commercial solutions.

  • Develop Customer Value Propositions (CVPs) for priority accounts and projects by connecting customer needs with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s portfolio and capabilities.

  • Collaborate with relevant sales, technical, application, product, and marketing teams to connect individual product needs with broader workflow or cross-division opportunities where appropriate.

  • Coordinate internal resources for priority opportunities and maintain clear communication on customer needs, opportunity status, and next actions.

  • Maintain ongoing customer relationships and identify follow-on growth opportunities through regular engagement.

  • Proactive approach, strong commercial awareness, and curiosity to understand regional market and investment developments.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
