Key Accounts Manager – Gyeongsang Region
Position Summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific provides innovative technologies and solutions across the life sciences value chain, supporting customers from research and development through production.
As a Key Accounts Manager for the Gyeongsang Region, you will manage and grow key customer relationships while developing new business opportunities across Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Busan. Based in Busan, you will work closely with customers and internal teams to understand customer needs, identify emerging projects and market opportunities, and connect them with relevant Thermo Fisher Scientific solutions.
This is an individual contributor role combining key account management, business development, and consultative selling, with a strong focus on sustainable regional growth.
Coverage: Gyeongsang Region (Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Busan)
Office Location: Busan
Key Responsibilities
Manage and grow key accounts across biopharmaceutical companies, academia, hospitals, government research institutes, and other relevant customers in the Gyeongsang region.
Build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, including technical users, purchasing teams, project stakeholders, and decision-makers.
Develop and execute account and territory plans to drive revenue growth, customer engagement, and market expansion.
Identify new customers, projects, and business opportunities by understanding customer needs, research priorities, purchasing processes, and market developments.
Monitor regional research programs, government-funded initiatives, infrastructure projects, and emerging investments to identify new business opportunities.
Develop Customer Value Propositions (CVPs) by translating customer needs into relevant technical and commercial solutions.
Identify white-space and competitive conversion opportunities by leveraging customer insights and Thermo Fisher Scientific’s broad portfolio.
Manage opportunities from qualification through solution development, proposal, negotiation, and implementation.
Collaborate with sales, technical, application, product, and marketing teams to develop workflow and cross-division opportunities.
Maintain strong customer relationships and identify follow-on growth opportunities through regular engagement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree is a plus.
5+ years of relevant commercial experience, preferably in life sciences, biopharmaceuticals, analytical instruments, laboratory solutions, or related industries.
Experience in key account management, business development, consultative sales, or solution selling.
Proven ability to identify new business opportunities and grow existing customer accounts.
Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into relevant commercial and technical solutions.
Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively across functions within a matrix organization.
Experience with government-funded projects, public research institutions, regional innovation programs, or infrastructure projects is a plus.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly across the assigned territory.
