Discover Impactful Work:

As a Biorepository Coordinator II, you will have a meaningful role in advancing scientific research within the Clinical Sequencing Division. You will use your knowledge in oncology specimen handling, management and testing. Your work will contribute to the future of healthcare by helping customers find cures for cancer to treat millions of patients globally.

A day in the Life:

  • Manage physical sample inventory, ensure accurate handling and appropriate storage of biospecimens such as FFPE blocks, slides, curls and plasma, in BSL2 environment
  • Use inventory management software applications for sample traceability
  • Liaise with internal and external customers for sample procurements requests
  • Perform histology activities such as microtomy and histochemistry

Keys to Success:

  • Follow best practices for sample handling and laboratory procedures.
  • Accurately follow protocols and recognize deviations.
  • Collaborate effectively within and across functional teams to achieve pre-defined goals.
  • Prepare regular reports detailing sample procurement requests.

Education

  • Bachelors required degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Masters preferred.
  • Histotechnologist (HT) certification highly preferred

Experience

  • At least 3 years of laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.
  • Experience working in regulated environments.
  • Industrial experience in sample management.
  • Prior histology experience such as microtomy and H&E staining is required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong organizational, communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Emphasis on attention to details
  • Strong theoretical knowledge and hands-on laboratory skills.
  • Excellent documentation, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Prior histology experience such as microtomy and H&E staining

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

This role requires working in a laboratory environment, handling biological samples and operating various lab equipment. Strict adherence to safety protocols is essential.
