AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Are you excited about shaping the future of video streaming and advertising technology? AWS Elemental MediaTailor is a cloud-based service that lets content providers deliver personalized, broadcast-quality ad experiences at massive scale. Using server-side ad insertion (SSAI), we seamlessly stitch targeted ads into live and on-demand video streams — powering some of the world's largest streaming platforms. Our team tackles complex challenges in manifest manipulation, dynamic ad decisioning, and real-time reporting, helping customers maximize ad revenue without compromising the viewer experience. As video consumption continues its shift to streaming, you'll be at the forefront of bridging traditional TV advertising with the digital future.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement features for our video streaming and ad insertion service that scale to millions of concurrent viewers
- Write high-quality, well-tested code that meets our operational excellence standards
- Participate in the on-call rotation to support our 24/7 video streaming services
- Collaborate with senior engineers to improve system architecture and operational efficiency
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues across distributed systems
- Participate in code reviews and help maintain high code quality standards
- Document technical decisions and share knowledge with the team

A day in the life
At AWS Elemental MediaTailor, no two days are the same. Your morning might start with deep diving into a tricky ad insertion bug escalated to the team. Before lunch, you join standup to sync with colleagues across time zones. In the afternoon, you could be drafting a design document for dynamic ad replacement in live sports events, weighing architectural trade-offs. Later, you might help a teammate debug a device-specific ad insertion failure by analyzing internal logs. Throughout the day, you'll work with native AWS components, collaborate across teams, and make decisions that directly impact the streaming experience of millions of viewers worldwide.

About the team
The AWS Elemental MediaTailor team builds and operates the cloud service that powers personalized ad experiences for some of the world's largest streaming platforms. We're a collaborative group of engineers passionate about video technology, distributed systems, and delivering seamless viewing experiences at massive scale. Our team values operational excellence, customer obsession, and continuous learning. We foster an inclusive environment where every voice matters and bold ideas are encouraged. Whether you're debugging a live-stream issue or designing the next generation of ad insertion technology, you'll be surrounded by teammates who are invested in your growth and success.
