About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
This is a combined business development and brand partnerships function: one side owns the "what we do" (defining the program, securing package elements, and building the network of brand sponsors and internal stakeholders), while the other owns the "how we do it" (translating strategy into execution, scaling creative operations, and delivering campaigns that meet or exceed partner expectations). Together, the team drives end-to-end sponsorship delivery — from first pitch through post-campaign measurement — partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Creative, Retail, XCM, Finance, and third-party partners to create a consistent, compelling, and differentiated brand experience across paid, owned, and earned channels.
As the Head of Emerging Brand Partnerships, you will create one-of-a-kind sponsored experiences for a wide range of brands - from concept to buy-in to execution. You will work with and lead a team of art directors, copywriters, designers, strategists, solutions managers, creative technologists and content producers to help brands show up alongside meaningful moments in ways that will resonate with our shared customers.
You'll investigate Amazon/3P data to form insights that inspire high-level strategies and campaign frameworks that solve business needs across the advertising industry. You will leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to push creative boundaries, drive efficiency, and unlock new storytelling formats for advertisers.
You will think across Amazon platforms and beyond, manage complex projects, and create tailored programs across channels, driving the marketing objectives of clients and developing programs that scale and resonate while delivering customized results. You will effectively communicate with key stakeholders and external media and creative agencies. You will work with senior leadership to create processes and establish best practices that drive creative and operational excellence. And finally, you will work towards preserving the team culture of collaboration, teamwork, innovation, inspiration, and foster positive internal and external relationships.
Key job responsibilities
Define and execute the overarching program vision for US sponsorships — identifying high-value IP, cultural moments, and tentpole events that create differentiated, only-at-Amazon experiences for brand partners
Lead initial brand negotiations, pitch narrative development, and deal closure; own the end-to-end relationship from first conversation through signed commitment
Build and manage the operational infrastructure, creative resources, and cross-functional processes required to deliver sponsorship campaigns against brand and partner goals
Oversee end-to-end campaign execution including budget management, timeline oversight, workback development, and performance tracking across all channels and formats
Engage senior leadership and key stakeholders across Ads, XCM, Retail, and third-party partners to secure sponsorship requirements, align on deliverables, and unblock dependencies
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing creative team spanning design, art direction, copy, motion, and production — fostering a culture of creative excellence and operational rigor
Define KPIs and success metrics at both the program and campaign level; measure and communicate results to internal teams, leadership, and brand partners
Develop sponsorship tiers, pricing models, playbooks, and scalable frameworks that drive long-term revenue growth and program repeatability
Manage annual planning, pipeline development, and OP1/OP2 narrative contributions; maintain visibility into revenue pacing and forecast accuracy
Own escalation and risk mitigation for at-risk deals, funding gaps, IP access challenges, and campaign-level operational issues
Champion brand satisfaction by ensuring delivery excellence, proactive communication, and post-campaign storytelling that reinforces partner confidence and drives renewal
A day in the life
You start the morning reviewing pipeline health in SalesForce and prepping for a pitch meeting with a major brand partner — refining the narrative, aligning package elements, and confirming creative feasibility with your team. Mid-morning, you're in a cross-functional sync with XCM and Retail to unblock IP usage for an upcoming cultural moment activation. Over lunch, you're reviewing creative concepts with your design and art direction leads, ensuring the work ladders up to the sponsorship's strategic intent. The afternoon brings a leadership alignment on Q3 revenue pacing, followed by a working session with your Solutions Managers on campaign workbacks and risk flags for a live sponsorship. You close the day connecting with your Program Manager on playbook updates and mechanisms that will scale the program into next year.
