As Director, Global Small Medium Business (GSMB) Field Sales Enablement, you will help shape how we bring that mission to life for one of our largest and most dynamic customer segments—leading the strategy, execution, and field enablement that help SMB customers grow and succeed in the AI era. 

 

This is a high-impact role at the center of Microsoft’s SMB growth agenda. You will lead the design and evolution of the SMB field sales roles and coverage model, building the capacity, orchestration, skilling, and AI-enabled capabilities required for field success. You will drive year-round community execution, performance tracking, and continuous improvement through integrated field feedback and market insights. This role offers exceptional visibility across Microsoft and field sales teams. Foremost, you will influence how our field leaders and teams go to market and meet the important business needs of Global SMB customers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the SMB field sales roles and community by owning business planning and compensation inputs, role capacity mapping and recommendations, role excellence and skilling, and year-round execution of strategic initiatives, including AI-enabled agents. Drive field community engagement, respond to rhythm-of-business priorities, and translate continuous learning, performance insights, and field feedback into actions and projects that strengthen role effectiveness. 

  • Represent the field sales SMB perspective in GSMB strategy, shaping near-term priorities and long-term direction based on field, customer, and partner signals. 

  • Serve as the GSMB voice into field sales SMB strategy, partnering with operational, channel, and solution area leadership to drive aligned planning and landing 

  • Connect field insight to global strategy by synthesizing field leaders’ feedback and signals, translating them into decisions that strengthen planning and execution. 

  • Champion innovation and customer advocacy by serving as a senior spokesperson for GSMB, representing the voice of the SMB customer, and evangelizing Microsoft’s SMB value proposition internally and externally with customers and partners. Bring an entrepreneurial mindset marked by adaptability, curiosity, and bias for action. 

  • Champion culture and inclusion by fostering a growth mindset, high standards, and an environment where every team member can thrive and do their best work.

  • Field enablement and readiness: Deep understanding of Microsoft’s sales motions and proven ability to lead readiness and enablement efforts that equip field teams with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to execute successfully. 



Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years experience in Near Term Strategy (2 years out), Management Consulting, Sales, or Finance.

 

Additional or preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 5+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years of marketing, strategy, sales, sales leadership, program management, project management, business planning, consulting, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Deep understanding of the Microsoft set of products and offerings for SMB, preferably from functioning in a SMB field sales capacity.
  • Proficient business acumen and ability to translate strategy into execution.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and executive presence.
 
 
 


Sales Strategy Enablement IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
