Summary

Apple Books is looking for an experienced copywriter with copyediting experience. You’ll join a business/editorial team committed to connecting readers and listeners to the stories, information, and inspiration of books. Our goal is to help users discover their next read or listen, no matter their interest, as they build a library that will enrich their lives.

Description

As the Copy Lead for Apple Books, you will manage all copy workflows that go into creating a dynamic and inviting customer experience for our readers and listeners. You will be responsible for writing large amounts of copy per week, including long-form editorial features and short, marketing-focused copy, as well as managing and editing the copy of other contributors. You will also help shape the editorial direction of Apple Books by working alongside our editors and merchandisers.

Responsibilities

Craft and edit copy across the Apple Books store and supporting channels
Conceive and executive editorial features in support of authors and books, including author interviews
Work closely with editors and merchandisers to help define editorial strategy
Help shape the editorial voice of Apple Books

Minimum Qualifications

Passion for and deep knowledge of books and audiobooks
Minimum 7 years experience both writing and editing copy professionally
Experience crafting short, effective copy for marketing purposes, as well as longer-form editorial
Proven ability to maintain and continually hone an existing editorial voice
Outstanding organizational skills and scrupulous attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Professional demeanor, with the ability to represent Apple Books and interface with partners and vendors
Ability to collaborate within a team and manage feedback from multiple stakeholders
Strong interpersonal communications skills, both written and verbal
Flexibility, with proven ability to handle multiple priorities and pivot quickly between tasks
Experience conducting interviews with authors or other creatives
Ability to contribute to merchandising and editorial discussions around books and audiobooks
Experience establishing and implementing processes to maximize efficiency
Ability to quickly master new applications and systems
Book/audiobook industry experience
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.

Pay & Benefits — Cupertino, California, United States

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $119,700 and $180,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
