At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth, providing safe and authentic products to our customers by safeguarding Amazon’s global marketplaces. Amazon's Perfect Order Experience team works to ensure that buyers receive authentic products in the condition and with the functionality they are expecting. We design and implement policies, tools, and technology innovations to protect the buying experience on Amazon. Our greatest challenge is protecting buyer trust without unjustly harming good selling partners. To strike the right balance, we invest in mechanisms which allow us to accurately identify and mitigate risk, and to quickly correct and learn from our mistakes. This strategy includes continuously evolving enforcement policies, iterating our Machine Learning risk models, and exercising high‐judgement decision‐making where we cannot apply automation.

The Global Product Verification (GPV) team supports the Perfect Order Experience (POE) organization goals and objectives by acting as a reliable product authentication and verification service for third-party products sold on Amazon by authenticating risky offers and establishing ground truth. As GPVs’ Lab Metrology Technician you will support expanding and scaling the use of metrology-based applications and techniques, e.g. X-Ray, Digital Multimeter, Spectrometer, Load testers, etc. to aid in establishing authenticity of products. You will use a combination of scientific methods and technical skills to test and evaluate products, and leverage your thorough understanding of industry regulations and guidelines. You will collaborate directly with GPVs investigations team to develop new metrology-based product analysis tools and mechanisms including leveraging AI to drive efficiencies and scale. In addition you will work closely with GPV leadership in driving the strategic vision for metrology to support POE’s long-term goals and objectives, including regional expansion efforts.

In addition to above the Lab Metrology Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, precision, and reliability of all measurement instruments, acting as a crucial quality assurance authority on behalf of GPV and POE. This includes maintaining measurement standards, enforcing strict calibration schedules, adhering to regulatory protocols (like ISO/IEC 17025, cGMP, and FDA), and managing documentation for all measurements and equipment, including all safety and compliance requirements. In addition to technical skills, the Lab Metrology Technician must have strong problem-solving and analytical abilities and be able to work independently but most importantly, collaboratively with team of investigators.

Key job responsibilities
* Overseeing all metrology-based tools and systems enabling investigators to conduct product analysis at scale
* Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, and ensuring the laboratory is clean and organized

* Following standard operating procedures and good laboratory practices
