About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, results-oriented Principal Product Manager – Technical to lead Project Atlas — Amazon's durable target-state architecture for policy-owned inventory enforcement orchestration running inventory removal driven defects down to zero. This is a rare opportunity to own a platform that directly influences seller trust at scale, the integrity of Amazon's compliance posture across every marketplace, and the efficiency of the global fulfillment network. You will drive the strategy and roadmap spanning policy-authoring systems, action APIs, appeal-aware control logic, and the lifecycle-of-record systems that power them — building products that resolve policy intent, seller remediation, appeal state, and removal eligibility upstream, so downstream inventory and removal systems can correctly take execution actions.
Key job responsibilities
1. Own the FBA platform roadmap for Project Atlas — Amazon's durable target-state architecture for policy-owned enforcement orchestration — and the next-generation enforcement experience that turns downstream systems into stateless executors of upstream policy decisions.
2) Drive the shift to policy-owned enforcement, replacing bundled downstream workflows with discrete, policy-issued action primitives each with its own timing, owner, and result.
3) Build seller-protecting controls that make enforcement deterministic, transparent, and appeal-aware — including irreversible-action gates checked against active appeal state, undo/resume logic, and a single lifecycle-of-record so sellers never receive conflicting dates, channels, or instructions.
4) Scale the enforcement platform beyond compliance — partnering with policy, science, and marketplace teams to extend the model to any future use case that touches inventory, offers, orders, removals, or seller communication, while distinguishing reversible (Compliance-Pending) from irreversible (Disposition-Required) violations.
5) Lead cross-functional alignment across CPP/Policy Manager, DISCO, Paragon/AHD, Issue Store, AFT/TASC, FBA, and Retail on the action API contract, policy-authoring validation, and evaluation/enforcement grain alignment — transforming fragmented, downstream-owned enforcement into an automated, policy-driven system with zero unauthorized removals.
