Overview

With the pace of AI innovation and competition, it's more important than ever to ensure that the AI experiences are safe and secure. Come join the team in Microsoft Office that hundreds of millions of users rely on for secure, private, and responsible use of AI productivity.

The Office Security Team is looking for a Principal Product Manager to own the layer that stops malicious instructions from ever landing, the detection that catches them on the way in, and the containment that makes sure a single bad input cannot cascade into real damage. Cross-prompt injection, is the defining security threat of the agentic era, and there is no textbook for beating it. The defenses you ship decide whether people can trust AI with their most sensitive work, from their finances to their health records to their company's crown jewels. This is a place to go deep: the detection and containment problems here are genuinely unsolved, the feedback loop is fast, and the craft you build will be in demand for the rest of the agentic era. pre-AI era, and influence peers to embed AI into the fabric of how we work.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

You will own the end-to-end agent security threat model and turn it into a scalable product strategy that you’ll execute across Office apps and partner teams.

  • Define the data flywheel, evals, and evolving threat model to measure residual risk and protection coverage metrics.
  • You go deep on security and systems problems, and an unsolved threat energizes you rather than deterring you.

  • You are driven by real customer impact, and you seek out the attack scenarios and stakes that make the work matter.

  • You turn ambiguity into a plan, owning strategy, roadmap, and crisp execution across many partner teams.

  • You design guardrails that protect people without getting in their way, balancing security with a deep user experience

  • You build trust, momentum, and exec sponsorship across groups and orgs; you broker tough cross-team agreements without constant escalation.

  • You operate independently with a get-it-done bias when the path is unclear.

  • You lead through others, creating clarity and direction for multiple crews and workstreams, and making partner teams successful.

  • You communicate with clarity and conviction, in writing and in the room, and tailored to executive audiences.
