We are the engineering team behind the Bing Search Ads and the emerging Copilot Search Ads platform. We serve billions of ad impressions daily and process terabytes of real-time signals to help advertisers reach global audiences. As a senior engineer in our team, you will:
- Design and build high-scale low latency systems used globally every day and ensure their high reliability, security and performance
- Shape brand new ad products for Search, Copilot and MSN in the AI-first world in collaboration with product, applied science and platform teams

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
- Build and evolve high-scale production systems powering ads in Search, Copilot and other publishers.
- Design, maintain and optimize low-latency, high-availability services that serve ads in milliseconds.
- Collaborate with product, applied science, and platform teams to launch new ad formats and experiences.
- Improve system architecture, reliability, cost efficiency, and observability across global deployments.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year of DRI/Oncall experience.
- Experience building high QPS low latency distributed systems.
- Solid collaboration skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
