With a legacy spanning over 50 years, Intel designs and manufactures cutting-edge processors and technologies that power billions of devices globally. At Intel, we believe in the power of human ingenuity and are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive, and innovative workplace where every individual can thrive and make a meaningful impact.

Intel's Sort Test Technology Development (STTD) Department is looking for a passionate and driven Software Engineering Intern to join our HDMT Tester Software Development and Validation team in Oregon, US. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the next generation of Intel's test equipment software — solutions that power Intel's high-volume manufacturing facilities and enable the testing of Intel's most advanced processors.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you will be an integral part of the software development lifecycle, working alongside experienced engineers to deliver innovative solutions that directly impact Intel's ability to maintain its leadership in semiconductor technology. If you are a curious problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to make a real-world impact, this is the role for you.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited degree program and be eligible to complete a 3-to-6-month internship, with an anticipated graduation date on or before December 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define, develop, and maintain software features for Intel's high-volume manufacturing (HVM) test equipment

  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, validation, and ongoing support

  • Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple geographies within Intel to deliver optimized and scalable software solutions

  • Engage actively in design and code reviews, contributing to the development of robust and reliable software systems

  • Identify and implement opportunities for product quality improvement and process optimization, including bug fixes and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Troubleshoot software and infrastructure components to resolve complex and diverse technical challenges

  • Leverage AI tools and technologies to drive efficiency improvements across development workflows

As a Successful Candidate, You Will Bring:

  • Effective Communication – You can articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Collaborative Spirit – You thrive in team environments and enjoy working with diverse groups of people across different geographies

  • Intellectual Curiosity – You have a genuine passion for learning and staying ahead of emerging technologies and trends

  • Problem-Solving Mindset – You approach challenges with creativity and persistence, breaking down complex problems into manageable solutions

  • Adaptability – You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and can pivot quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Attention to Detail – You take pride in delivering high-quality work and have a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement

  • Initiative & Ownership – You proactively take ownership of your work and go beyond what is asked to deliver exceptional results

Are you ready to make your mark on the future of semiconductor technology? Join Intel's world-class engineering team in Oregon, US, and help shape the next generation of test equipment software. This is your chance to work on technology that matters — at a company that values your ideas, your growth, and your potential.
