The US ADC Senior Security Program Manager leads the physical security design, installation, and sustainment program across multiple Amazon Dedicated Cloud (ADC) data center clusters. This role sets program strategy for security capital projects and system sustainment, directly manages a team of Security Program Managers (SPMs) who execute at the cluster level, and ensures physical security infrastructure meets government accreditation requirements while keeping pace with rapid data center growth.

You will own the end-to-end physical security program — defining standards, managing a multi-million dollar portfolio of capital and sustainment projects, and driving consistency across clusters. You will hire, develop, and lead a team of SPMs, setting clear goals, providing regular coaching and feedback, and managing performance to build a high-performing team. You will resolve complex problems that span multiple sites, stakeholders, and compliance regimes. You will advise senior leadership on security infrastructure investment, risk posture, and long-term design strategy. You will foster a culture of operational excellence within your team, identifying talent gaps, driving professional development, and building succession plans. You will engage directly with government customers on physical security approvals and accreditation matters at the program level.

As a people manager, you will be responsible for workforce planning, talent acquisition, team engagement, and creating an inclusive environment where SPMs can grow their careers and deliver impact at scale.

Key job responsibilities
Define and execute the physical security design and sustainment strategy across all assigned ADC clusters Own the development of standard work and repeatable processes documented workflows, templates, and proven methods that enable consistent execution across clusters regardless of who performs the work

Establish program-level standards for security system design, installation quality, vendor performance, and lifecycle management

Translate organizational security objectives and government requirements into actionable program roadmaps

Identify long-term risks and opportunities in the physical security infrastructure portfolio; propose solutions that balance compliance, cost, and operational impact

Serve as the single-threaded leader for physical security capital and sustainment programs within the assigned region

People Leadership & Development

Lead, develop, and manage Security Program Managers and Contracted Security Project Managers across multiple clusters

Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations

Build a high-performing team through hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and career development

Develop succession plans and ensure knowledge continuity across the program

Foster a culture of technical rigor, continuous improvement, and customer obsession within the SPM team

Physical Security Design & Standards

Own the physical security design standards for new data center construction, expansions, and retrofit projects

Ensure Basis of Design products comply with ICD 705, NIST, UL 2050, and applicable contract security specifications

Develop and approve Basis of Design products that establish security requirements and inform site-level design packages produced by SPMs

Drive convergence of physical and electronic security systems into integrated, scalable solutions

Partner with Data Center Engineering and Construction to influence facility design early in the project lifecycle

Financial & Portfolio Management

Own the security program budget across capital projects, preventative maintenance, and break/fix sustainment contracts

Develop and deliver accurate financial forecasts aligned to organizational planning cycles

Track portfolio-level spend-to-plan variance, identify risks early, and recommend corrective actions

Partner with Finance and Procurement on contract strategy, vendor negotiations, and budget reviews

Ensure SPMs effectively manage project-level budgets, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation

Vendor & Contract Strategy

Define vendor performance standards and contract requirements for security system installation and sustainment

Oversee vendor selection, RFP/RFQ processes, and contract execution at the program level

Monitor portfolio-wide vendor performance against SLAs; drive accountability and escalate systemic issues

Manage preventative maintenance and break/fix contract strategy to maximize system uptime and compliance

Partner with Procurement on new contract vehicles, renewals, amendments, and multi-year sustainment agreements

Government Customer & Compliance Engagement

Engage with government customer security organizations on physical security design approvals, accreditation requirements, and compliance matters at the program level

Interpret and implement evolving government security requirements across the physical security program

Support cluster-level audits, inspections, and accreditation activities with program-level expertise and documentation

Coordinate with Industrial Security on security system compliance and workforce requirements for cleared project work

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

Provide regular program health readouts to senior leadership including status, risk, and investment recommendations

Represent the physical security program in cross-functional forums with Construction, Operations, and Design Engineering

Write and deliver program strategy documents, investment narratives, and compliance reports

Maintain clear communication channels with SPMs, ensuring timely flow of requirements, standards, and decisions

Process Improvement & Standardization

Streamline security program processes to reduce complexity, eliminate redundancy, and create predictable project delivery paths

Develop and maintain program-level Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), templates, and playbooks that standardize SPM workflows

Scale best practices from individual clusters to program-wide adoption

Drive continuous improvement informed by project data, audit findings, vendor performance, and government feedback

A day in the life
Work Environment

Location: On-site within the assigned ADC region

Travel: Up to 25% regular travel to cluster sites for project oversight, site walks, and stakeholder engagement; frequent travel across the United States for program coordination

Direct reports: Security Program Managers and Contracted Security Project Managers within the assigned region

Security Clearance Requirement:
U.S. Citizenship required
Must obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
