This is a tremendous opportunity for Business Intelligence Engineers who want to develop new and innovative ways of interacting with and interpreting business key performance indicators, and shape the future of Amazon Transportation systems.
Key job responsibilities
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and data sets using SQL, AWS Redshift/S3, and visualization tools such as QuickSight or Tableau, with guidance from senior BI engineers.
- Support the creation and monitoring of transportation metrics related to delivery cost and customer experience, escalating anomalies and findings to senior team members.
- Perform data gathering, analysis, and validation to answer specific business questions from program owners, following established analytical approaches.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to investigate transportation issues, documenting findings and presenting recommendations to your immediate team and manager.
- Contribute to automating manual reporting processes by writing scripts in Python or R under the direction of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with data engineers and other BI engineers to learn data architecture best practices and support data pipeline improvements.
A day in the life
As a Business Intelligence Engineer on the North America Transportation Planning and Forecasting team, you'll start your day reviewing existing dashboards and checking for data quality issues. You'll work with your manager and senior BI engineers to prioritize analytical requests from program owners. Your day may include writing SQL queries to pull data for a specific business question, updating a dashboard to reflect new metrics, or investigating a data anomaly flagged by a stakeholder. You'll participate in team meetings where you'll share your findings and learn from more experienced team members. You'll have opportunities to develop your skills across the AWS data ecosystem and grow your understanding of Amazon's supply chain.
About the team
We are the central planning and forecasting team for North America Transportation. We integrate end-to-end customer fulfillment analytics across both the short term (13 weeks) and long term (3–5 years) horizon. You'll work alongside operations specialists, data scientists, and senior BI engineers who are committed to using data to improve how we serve our customers.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
