We're looking for a products counseling attorney to support AWS's Applied AI Solutions business. In this role, you will work directly with business teams to develop AWS AI products and services, including advising on complex legal issues, supporting new product and feature launches, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and providing subject matter expertise on regulatory and compliance issues. Your role will give you the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders, including public policy, privacy, marketing and go-to-market teams.
You will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and you will build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quickly. The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
Key job responsibilities
- Partnering closely with product, engineering and business development teams to provide day-to-day legal support for various products within the AWS Applied AI Solutions org;
- Identifying legal risks and proposed mitigation strategies;
- Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements;
- Advising on regulatory and compliance-related issues (including privacy-related issues)
A day in the life
In a typical day of an Associate Corporate Counsel in AWS Products Legal, you may conduct meetings with several of your client teams to discuss upcoming product launches, provide advice on draft contracts to a business lead, develop a strategy document for a novel legal issue impacting AWS, and attend a meeting with business leaders to review an important project.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
