In the role of Corporate Counsel, Infrastructure Legal Affairs, you will provide advice and counsel to the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division within Microsoft. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of technology development, manufacturing, supply chain, and intellectual property.

Responsibilities

Legal Advice and Counsel  

  • Serve as one of the primary legal advisors for the Azure Hardware and Systems Infrastructure division.  

  • Identify and anticipate highly complex legal and/or other business issues.  

  • Serve as a key business partner and advisor to senior executives.   

  • Manage a wide variety of negotiations and transactions with unique IP and technology issues related to semiconductor and other hardware development, manufacturing and logistics, supply chain and procurement.  

  • Collaborate with specialists in trade, IP, and other CELA partners as needed to escalate and drive decisions.  

Solution Implementation and Process Improvement  

  • Develop and implement solutions that anticipate and mitigate risks.  

  • Manage and develop relationships with clients to create strategic and innovative solutions that address issues and achieve business objectives.  

  • Provide feedback and evaluate process improvements including the development and deployment of AI tooling that increases efficiencies.  



Qualifications
 

Required Qualifications   

  • Juris Doctorate Degree or international equivalent degree AND 1+ years' experience as a practicing attorney in the areas of IP and technology transactions; supply chain, manufacturing, logistics and procurement; and related counseling to executive business leaders.  

    • OR equivalent experience.   

  • Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.  

Additional or Preferred Qualifications   

  • Demonstrated experience advising on and negotiating agreements for cutting-edge technology, including semiconductors.    

  • Ability to contribute effectively by working independently and efficiently on projects in a fast-paced environment while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.   

  • Ability to demonstrate sound and practical business judgement in ambiguous situations. 



Legal Counsel IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $105,800 - $204,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $138,400 - $223,300 per year.
