The Waymo Driver powers Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and can also be applied to a range of vehicle platforms and product use cases. The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.
The Chassis team provides the foundational infrastructure and tools that enable the Waymo organization to release software frequently and with confidence. You will lead the technical direction and implementation of a city-scale simulation environment that serves as the centerpiece for Waymo's release validation process. As a Senior Staff Tech Lead Engineer, you will architect solutions for large-scale simulated environments, drive the migration to modern testing frameworks, and ensure cross-functional alignment to expand test coverage to include complex systems. You will mentor a team of engineers to deliver a reliable, repeatable, and realistic testing environment that mirrors production and shifts outage detection left.

- Solve hard, real-world problems such as world simulation for regression testing and evaluation of software services managing fleets for autonomous vehicles
You have:
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of backend or infrastructure experience
- 5+ years of tech leadership experience
- Proven track record of driving strategic alignment and consensus across complex, cross-functional organizations
We prefer:
