Waymo’s Technical Program Managers and Program Managers are accountable for Waymo’s roadmap execution by providing thoughtful cross-functional planning, clarity, and proactive risk management. In the face of complex technical and operational challenges with no established playbooks to follow, we act with thoughtful urgency, driving conversations, discussions, and outcomes. Our team partners closely with every function of Waymo to structure, own and drive work towards real-world deployments of the Waymo Driver across platforms and geographies.

This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Program Manager Lead, Commercialization and Expansion. 

You will:

  • Drive program execution, communication, and cross-functional coordination for AV Expansion testing and validation across domestic & international markets
  • Centrally orchestrate fleet setup and driving configurations across markets. Organize tracking across various phases and milestones leading up to major launches and deployments 
  • Align market entry roadmaps in partnership with key teams (e.g. Product, Engineering, Operations, and Mapping) based on testing feasibility and readiness
  • Establish and own processes and tooling improvements for medium- and small-scale validation programs
  • Lead weekly reporting, program reviews, updates, and guidance to ensure alignment across critical stakeholders critical cross-functional stakeholders

You have:

  • 5+ years of experience managing highly complex cross-functional programs
  • Experience as a Technical Program Manager driving complex, large-scale execution across technical and operational domains
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Eng TPgMs, Product Managing, Operations, and Mapping teams and ability to leverage intuitional judgment around competing priorities
  • Strong experience in data/configuration management, operational forecasting, or fleet/resources allocation
  • Demonstrated ability to establish process structure, write operational playbooks, and identify/mitigate silent risks early

We prefer:

  • Experience with autonomous vehicle systems, software release testing, consumer hardware
  • Skilled at launching and expanding products to new markets
  • Familiarity complex global operational logistics
  • Background in influencing software/tooling roadmap

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
