- 5+ years of hands-on experience with automated test equipment
- ATE testers — proficiency in at least one of the below: Advantest (EVA Scale, SmartScale), Teradyne UFP ('UltraFLEX Plus')
- ATC handlers — proficiency in at least one of the below: HonPrec Inc. (HPI) — 1028CH / CA, 9046LS, Chroma ATE — 3160-H, Cohu — EclipseX
- Demonstrated expertise in complex problem solving across thermal, electrical, and mechanical domains
- Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills
Preferred
- Knowledge in electrical engineering at practical engineer level is a significant advantage
- Experience with semiconductor test and handling equipment
- Track record of leading technical teams or mentoring junior engineers
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; Korean proficiency highly desired
- Experience working with OSAT partners in Asia

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Equipment Engineer to join our team in South Korea. This is the team's **first hire in country**, making it a foundational role with significant ownership and visibility. This role will provide technical leadership for automated test equipment (ATE) operations at our OSAT partners, driving excellence in test cell qualification and problem resolution.
What you'll do
• Lead and execute new test cell qualification and bring-up activities at OSAT partners
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues at OSAT facilities
• Drive resolution of sophisticated setup challenges involving thermal, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Conduct comprehensive technical audits at OSAT partners to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Develop and deliver technical training programs for new team members and OSAT partners
• Review and approve test cell configurations for production release
• Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize test cell performance and reliability
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for test cell efficiency and yield
Requirements
