Role Summary

AI-generated

This Demand Planner role covers long-horizon and non-clinical demand input, demand planning before and during clinical study execution, and optimization of IRT and supply planning tools. Duties include maintaining demand assumptions, preparing scenarios for governance decisions, and collaborating with clinical and supply planning teams.

What You'll Do

  • Input non-clinical demand into the planning system and update long-term demand in line with the defined process cadence.
  • Collaborate with clinical study design teams to understand high-level study design and assumptions, and incorporate demand assumptions...
  • Provide robust demand scenarios and inputs into budget proposals for governance decision points (DRC, E/LSPC).
  • Input optimized IRT settings into IRT build and enable IRT/Supply App integration where applicable.
  • Maintain and refine demand assumptions and the demand plan for study-level materials, adhering to the planning cycle process.
  • Monitor demand forecast accuracy by comparing assumptions against actuals, and escalate deviations as required.

Original job description

Content provided by the employer

Main objectives

Long Horizon Demand Planning

  • Input non-clinical demand into the planning system
  • Update of long-term and non-clinical demand in-line with defined process cadence

Design and Demand Planning prior to FSI

  • Collaborate effectively with clinical study design teams to understand the high-level study design and assumptions
  • Incorporate the demand assumptions into relevant planning systems
  • Effectively communicate leverage opportunities to influence optimal design decisions with senior stakeholders and shape feasibility with clinical teams. Where applicable, leverage the N-Side Supply App to inform cost, waste and risk scenario analyses
  • Provide robust demand scenarios and input into budget proposals for key governance decision points (DRC, E/LSPC)
  • Input optimized IRT settings into IRT build and enable IRT/ Supply App system integration where applicable

Demand Planning during Study Execution

  • Build relationships across clinical study teams to facilitate agreement of study demand and execute / challenge decision-making by communicating supply chain constraints, opportunities, and risk scenarios.
  • Adhere to the planning cycle process; maintain and continuously refine demand assumptions and the demand plan for all study level materials
  • Where applicable, in N-Side Supply App, use clinical assumptions and supply chain planning processes to re-optimise the study and create a supply suggestion to implement the most optimal strategy considering key KPIs (cost, waste, risk, overage). Monitor KPI’s, mitigate and escalate deviations where required
  • Monitor demand forecast accuracy, by comparing demand assumptions against actuals, escalating deviation as required
  • Collaborate with Supply Planner to mitigate any supply constraints
  • Provide input of demand changes into the CS&OP cycle
  • Plan depot shipments to meet demand assumptions with overlaid clinical intelligence
  • Own re-design of the demand assumptions and plan in response to endorsed strategic change

General

  •  Master and apply optimization methodologies, track optimization impact on studies, and championing continuous improvement
  • Work with system and service providers (e.g., N-SIDE, IRT) to manage system model and integration set up and maintenance

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

1) Clinical trial demand planning experience across design and execution

·    Proven ability to translate study designs and clinical assumptions into demand plans/supply suggestions, and to re-optimise in-flight as assumptions evolve.

2) Proficiency with clinical planning/optimization tools and IRT

·    Deep understanding of of IRT (including configuring optimized settings) and a clinical supply optimization/scenario tool (e.g., N‑SIDE Supply App or equivalent) to assess cost, waste, risk, and overage.

3)  Senior stakeholder influence and governance readiness

·     Track record collaborating with and influencing senior clinical and CM&S stakeholders from early design, and preparing robust scenarios/inputs for governance decisions

4)   Digitally literate and Strong analytical thinking

·      ndependent use of digital tools and analytical methods to interpret information, identify meaningful insights, and make evidence-based recommendations

5)   Communication and cross-functional collaboration

·     Strong communication to facilitate agreement on demand, articulate constraints/trade-offs, coordinate with Supply Planning, and document decisions in planning systems.
