About this role
Your team
The Information Security team protects the organization by identifying, assessing, and helping mitigate an evolving range of cyber threats. Working across Cyber Operations and with business and technology partners globally, the team connects external threat activity with internal security context to strengthen defenses, inform risk-based decisions, and support effective responses to security events.
Your role and impact
As Director of Cyber Threat Intelligence, you will lead the development and operation of key elements of the threat intelligence function, building on established research, analysis, and reporting capabilities. You will translate a complex and evolving threat landscape into timely, relevant, and actionable intelligence for technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leaders globally.
The role is well suited to someone passionate about intelligence-led decision-making who can operate effectively across technical and executive audiences. Success requires integrity, intellectual curiosity, sound judgment under uncertainty, and the confidence to challenge assumptions respectfully when supported by evidence.
Your responsibilities
In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:
- Lead the intelligence lifecycle across Cyber Operations, partnering with technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leaders to establish priorities and define intelligence requirements that support risk-based decision-making.
- Develop and maintain Intelligence Collection Plans, reviewing sources, coverage, and intelligence gaps while advancing new products, analytical capabilities, and opportunities to embed intelligence into cybersecurity operations.
- Monitor threat actors, campaigns, vulnerabilities, malicious infrastructure, tactics, techniques, and emerging risks, connecting external activity with internal security context to identify threats and inform defensive priorities.
- Build trusted relationships across internal and external intelligence communities and communicate complex findings clearly to security practitioners, business stakeholders, and senior executives.
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams during complex or high-severity investigations, providing adversary context, analytical judgment, escalation, and intelligence-driven guidance to support containment and mitigation.
- Promote strong analytical tradecraft, ensuring assessments are evidence-based, clearly sourced, appropriately qualified, and focused on decision-maker needs.
Your experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in information security, cyber threat intelligence, security research, investigations, or a broader intelligence discipline.
- Strong knowledge of the intelligence lifecycle and demonstrated analytical tradecraft, including the ability to evaluate incomplete or conflicting information, distinguish evidence from assumptions, and communicate confidence levels appropriately.
- Experience supporting security incidents, investigations, or other time-sensitive analytical efforts and briefing senior stakeholders on complex or rapidly evolving issues.
- Experience tracking threat actors and campaigns and analyzing technical threats, including malicious infrastructure, vulnerabilities and exploitation, malware, phishing, denial-of-service activity, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Experience collaborating with internal stakeholders, external partners, and intelligence-sharing communities, along with using, administering, or helping shape a Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP) and related intelligence tooling.
- Excellent technical and intelligence writing skills, with the ability to produce concise, decision-relevant assessments while maintaining attention to detail and identifying the broader significance of intelligence findings.
