We are looking for a well organized, self-motivated Executive Assistant (EA) to support the Executive of AWS Field Experiences and the broader AFX leadership team at Amazon Web Services. We want someone driven and resourceful who has a record of high performance. The role calls for sharp attention to detail, strong judgment on priorities, and the ability to plan ahead and hit tight deadlines while juggling several critical requests.
In this role, you will:
- Act as a strategic partner to the Executive, making sure their time matches business priorities and making judgment calls on where their attention matters most
- Run the leadership team's operating rhythm, including staff meetings, business reviews, offsites, and planning cycles
- Coordinate executive communications, org announcements, and meetings with senior leaders across SMGS and with external partners
- Manage travel, events, and logistics end to end
Partner with EAs and business managers across SMGS to keep work moving between teams
You hold yourself to a high standard of integrity and discretion with confidential information, and you're polished and professional with leaders inside and outside Amazon. You stay flexible and can change direction quickly. You finish complex tasks with little guidance, move fast when something needs a quick turnaround, and look for new projects and skills. You can act effectively without seeing the full picture, and you solve problems before they reach your leader's desk.
You're also curious about AI-powered productivity tools and use them to work smarter, automating routine scheduling, meeting prep, and follow-ups so you can focus on higher-value work.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.
AWS Field Experiences (AFX) is part of the SMGS team. AFX delivers the world's most advanced, intelligent go-to-market (GTM) experience, setting the standard for how AWS Field and Operations teams plan, execute, and optimize business success.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include playing a leadership role, thinking and planning ahead, delegating appropriately, and managing time effectively. Other key responsibilities include:
- Act as a strategic partner to the Executive, managing a complex calendar with diplomacy and discretion so that time reflects business priorities, including protected time for focused work.
- Prepare the Executive for key meetings with agendas, pre-reads, and briefing materials, so they walk in ready.
- Organize, prioritize, and handle time-sensitive, confidential information, including people and org matters, and make sure required actions are addressed on time.
- Drive the AFX leadership team's operating rhythm: staff meeting agendas, business reviews, annual planning (OP1/OP2), talent reviews, on-sites/off-sites, and team events.
- Coordinate executive communications and org announcements with stakeholders across SMGS.
- Plan domestic and international travel end to end, including detailed itineraries that account for time zone changes. Coordinate with in-house travel agents and submit expense reports on time.
- Partner closely with Recruiting, HR, Finance, Facilities, and other EAs and business managers across Amazon, including coordinating interview loops for open roles.
- Track and drive completion of key deliverables. Capture meeting notes and action items, and follow up until items close.
- Use AI and automation tools to streamline scheduling, meeting prep, and follow-ups, and keep finding ways to improve how the office runs.
A day in the life
You'll work in a fast-moving, often ambiguous environment where you take initiative, complete tasks and projects quickly, and act without needing the full picture. You'll learn how AFX is organized, what its priorities are, and how it connects to the rest of SMGS, and you'll build a strong network across the business.
On any given day, you might prepare the Executive for a senior leadership review, reshuffle the week around a high-priority customer meeting, line up the next staff meeting or off-site, and follow up on open action items from yesterday's business review. You'll bring sharp attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle several critical requests while staying flexible, keeping a sense of humor, and, most of all, staying calm under pressure.
Over time, you'll build deep, trusted relationships with the Executive and the AFX leadership team. Those relationships will turn into strong partnerships, with chances to take on special projects, more responsibility, and long-term career growth.
This role requires you to work from the office during the team's core business hours.
