Job Description
About the Role
The Associate Director, Global Process Manager – Intake to Contract is responsible for the global design, governance, operational performance, and continuous improvement of Takeda’s Need-to-Contract (Intake to Contract) process. Reporting into the Procurement Center of Excellence, this role translates the strategic direction established by Procurement Global Process Ownership into practical standards, controls, technologies, and improvement initiatives that ensure a seamless, compliant, and user-centric buying experience.
As the global process authority for Intake to Contract, you will shape the process roadmap, establish governance and performance expectations, drive adoption of global standards, and oversee initiatives that improve process efficiency, compliance, risk management, user experience, and business value. You will collaborate closely with Procurement, Takeda Business Solutions, DD&T, Legal, Third-Party Risk Management, Finance, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, technology-enabled solutions that support enterprise objectives.
How You Will Contribute
- Shape the global Need-to-Contract process strategy, operating model, governance framework, and multi-year transformation roadmap.
- Serve as Takeda’s global process expert and primary operational point of contact for the Intake-to-Contract process, providing guidance on process design, governance, controls, and improvement opportunities.
- Own end-to-end subprocess performance, including adoption, cycle time, first-time quality, compliance, user experience, risk management, and value realization.
- Develop and evolve the global Need-to-Contract core model, process taxonomy, procedures, controls, and supporting documentation aligned with Source-to-Pay governance and quality standards.
- Translate process-owner strategy into actionable standards, roadmaps, technology requirements, and operational improvements.
- Lead global process governance forums and facilitate timely decision-making on material process, policy, risk, technology, and investment matters.
- Design and continuously improve the guided-buying experience, ensuring users are directed to the appropriate purchasing channels, approval paths, sourcing support, contracting activities, and risk assessments.
- Establish global standards, decision rights, control requirements, and performance expectations across regions, functions, and service-delivery partners.
- Drive prioritization of process improvements based on business value, user impact, compliance requirements, technology dependencies, risk, and organizational capacity.
- Develop business cases and investment recommendations supporting process transformation, digitalization, automation, and technology enhancements.
- Gather and analyze process performance data, user feedback, pain points, service metrics, and industry best practices to identify simplification, standardization, automation, and risk-reduction opportunities.
- Monitor and report key process metrics, including cycle time, compliance, user satisfaction, channel adoption, system performance, and value delivery, using insights to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Partner with regional and local stakeholders to promote adoption of global standards while evaluating and governing approved regional or regulatory exceptions.
- Ensure alignment with procurement policies, sourcing requirements, contracting standards, third-party risk management requirements, internal controls, and applicable regulatory obligations.
- Support system configuration changes, testing activities, releases, and post-deployment stabilization, including user acceptance testing, defect management, readiness assessments, and validation of process outcomes.
- Maintain fit-for-purpose system controls, master-data requirements, and data-quality standards while contributing to procurement data governance initiatives.
- Drive sponsor alignment for major process, technology, and operating-model changes and ensure intended benefits are realized following implementation.
- Resolve or escalate enterprise-wide barriers, policy conflicts, material risks, and investment decisions through appropriate governance forums.
- Lead change management and adoption efforts, including stakeholder engagement, impact assessments, communications, training, readiness planning, and sustainment activities.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and maintain process training, knowledge articles, user guidance, and support materials.
- Build organizational process capability through coaching, knowledge sharing, reusable methodologies, and continuous improvement practices.
- Strengthen Procurement Process Excellence by sharing lessons learned, best practices, and innovation opportunities across global teams.
Preferred Qualifications

- Strong understanding of the Source-to-Pay lifecycle and its connections across demand intake, guided buying, sourcing, contracting, third-party risk management, purchasing, and downstream operations.
- Demonstrated experience owning process performance, governance, controls, compliance, risk management, and benefits realization.
- Proven success developing multi-year process roadmaps, business cases, and strategic investment recommendations.
- Experience presenting process strategies, recommendations, and decisions to senior leaders and governance bodies.
- Hands-on experience with procurement technologies, preferably SAP Ariba or similar guided-buying, procurement workflow, eSourcing, and contract management platforms; experience with Oro and Zip is a plus.
