About the team
The SSD Solutions team is within the Robotic Storage Technology organization within Amazon Robotics. Our focus is to design storage systems that fulfill the needs of our Sub-Same-Day business, specifically a combined fulfillment and last-mile building, storing 100K unique ASINs and delivering packages within 5 hours from when the customer ordered it. We own our designs from concept to sustaining. We model the use of new robotic technologies for future design concepts, and support ongoing performance enhancements in our existing network. We currently support 76 live SSD sites in the US, and are launching a new type of automated storage and retrieval system in an alpha site by May of this year. We are a team of 7 members currently, but with new projects on the horizon both from internal initiatives and customer needs, we expect our team to double in size to keep up with the tasks at hand.
