Here on the Apple Store Online team, we are responsible for Apple’s largest store. Our main goal is to deliver a magical, personal digital experience where customers can shop, buy and learn everything Apple, wherever they are. The Manager, WW Retail Commercial leads strategy, performance, and go-to-market for key commercial businesses and initiatives across Apple Retail globally.
Description
You will lead WW commercial strategy and execution for revenue-driving efforts at Apple Retail. You will lead complex cross-functional initiatives, balancing short-term performance with long-term strategic priorities, while helping shape how Apple Retail evolves to meet changing customer and market needs. This includes identifying opportunities to drive growth, developing customer and business strategies, and translating those strategies into coordinated execution across Retail.
You will lead a team with an initial focus on a strategic customer segment, owning its end-to-end commercial strategy, programs, and performance, with scope that evolves with the needs of the business. You will partner closely with teams across Retail, Product Marketing, Services, Operations, Finance, Legal & Privacy, and Regional teams to bring ideas to life. You will also communicate regularly with senior leaders on business performance, growth opportunities, and progress. This role requires strong commercial judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to connect strategy to execution.
Responsibilities
Commercial Revenue Responsibility: Drive commercial performance across the business, identifying what's working and taking action on what's not.
Segment Ownership: Own the commercial strategy for a priority customer segment, including eligibility-based pricing and offers, verification, seasonal peak moments, and segment-specific programs across online and in-store channels.
Strategy Development: Build a clear point of view on Apple's retail commercial landscape — customer needs, market dynamics, competitive positioning — and how Apple can best serve customers across its store channels and priority customer segments.
Value Proposition Innovation: Identify unmet customer needs and develop differentiated value propositions and commercial programs, in partnership with cross-functional teams.
Team Leadership & Development: Set priorities, lead and coach team members and partners, and scale impact through others.
Clear Communication and Storytelling: Turn insights and performance into simple, actionable, and compelling stories. Drive alignment and influence decision-making at senior levels.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely across Retail teams, Product Marketing, Services, Operations, Finance, Legal and Privacy, and Regional teams to align on strategy and ensure cohesive execution of key initiatives.
Market & Customer Insight: Bring a deep understanding of the retail commerce landscape into strategy, including customer segmentation, segment-specific value propositions, channel dynamics, competitive offerings, and industry trends. Translate insights into actionable strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in strategy, go-to-market, or commercial roles
3+ years of experience managing and developing teams
Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution with measurable business impact.
Experience applying analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate business performance and inform strategy
Experience owning or influencing business performance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading commercial strategy, business management, go-to-market, or growth initiatives, including owning a customer segment or eligibility-based program (e.g., education, business, government, membership, or loyalty).
Experience developing customer-centric strategies informed by market, customer, and business insights.
Background in retail, ecommerce, omnichannel, or consumer-facing businesses.
Communication and storytelling skills with experience presenting to and influencing executive leadership
Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and lead through influence in a highly matrixed environment
Experience building, developing, and retaining high-performing, inclusive teams
Ability to foster a collaborative environment that values diverse perspectives and encourages cross-functional partnership
Experience connecting strategic thinking with operational execution and measurable business outcomes.
Pay & Benefits — Cupertino, California, United States
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $195,200 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
