About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
You will own the "voice of the shipper" end to end: sizing opportunity, segmenting the book, surfacing the barriers that keep sellers off-program, and packaging those findings into crisp, data-anchored narratives that senior leaders use to make investment decisions. This is a high-visibility role for a builder who is equally comfortable in the data and on the page.
Key job responsibilities
Own the customer insights charter for WePay/PCP: build and maintain the segmentation, opportunity-sizing, and adoption-driver models that define how we prioritize sellers and shippers.
Author the customer-facing narrative inputs to OP1/OP2, MBR, and executive reviews — turning adoption, opportunity, and churn data into clear, defensible written documents in Amazon's writing style.
Run structured voice-of-customer work (surveys, interviews, win/loss, escalation mining) and synthesize it into actionable themes for product, BD, and account management partners.
Partner with BI and analytics to define the metrics and cohorts that measure adoption health, attrition risk, and addressable opportunity; ensure every number in a leadership doc ties to a source and a date.
Translate insight into action: recommend where the commercial and product teams should focus, and quantify the expected impact of each play.
Track the competitive and market landscape (3P carriers, alternative fulfillment paths) and keep leadership current on how shipper preferences are shifting.
Serve as the connective tissue across Product, BD, Account Management, and Operations — ensuring one shared, evidence-based understanding of the customer.
A day in the life
You might start by pressure-testing a segmentation cut with the BI team, send a CSAT survey over coffee, spend the midday drafting the customer section of an OP1 narrative, and close the day walking a product leader through why a specific shipper cohort is churning and what it would take to win them back. You are the person the org turns to when someone asks "but what does the customer actually want here?" — and you answer with data, not opinion.
