Key job responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to business leaders and cross-functional teams on commercial transactions.
- Research and advise on legal issues relevant to cloud computing services, including data processing terms, industry-specific requirements and evolving commercial frameworks for cloud services.
- Collaborate with business development teams to support customer engagements and help structure deals that meet business and legal objectives.
- Manage a portfolio of customer relationships and commercial matters with increasing independence, including leading negotiations, advising on contract terms, and developing creative solutions to complex deal issues.
- Partner with other legal teams (intellectual property, privacy, products, compliance) to deliver coordinated legal guidance on cross-cutting legal matters.
A day in the life
As a Corporate Counsel supporting Amazon Web Services, you'll engage in a variety of meaningful legal work that directly impacts our business operations. Your day might include drafting and negotiating commercial agreements with enterprise customers, advising a business partner on how to structure a new commercial engagement, or collaborating with product and business teams to address regulatory questions. You'll collaborate closely with business stakeholders and other legal teams to deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice on time-sensitive matters. Throughout your work, you'll develop expertise in cloud computing services while building relationships across our organization.
About the team
We are part of the AWS Sales and Marketing Legal team, supporting AWS's industry business units and go-to-market teams. Our attorneys serve as trusted legal advisors to business leaders across a range of industries, helping structure and negotiate commercial relationships with some of AWS's largest and most strategic customers. We value practical problem-solving, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative approach to legal work. The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
