About the role
Original posting provided by amazon
This individual contributor role sits at the intersection of the payment processing service center, business operations, finance, and technology. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is also detail-oriented — someone with strong accounting fundamentals, process improvement expertise, comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving environment, and a high degree of ownership.
Key job responsibilities
- Standardize and improve accounts payable processes across all One Medical sites, aligning teams to Global Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and driving consistency in payment operations
- Partner with the payment processing service center, business operations, and finance teams to identify pain points, recurring issues, and process improvement opportunities, then coordinate with stakeholders to implement solutions
- Resolve payment escalations promptly to maintain vendor satisfaction and protect One Medical's financial integrity. Identify root causes and implement prevention measures to eliminate recurring gaps within payment processes
- Conduct deep dives of payment processes to identify improvement areas, quantify impact, and provide actionable recommendations for goal achievement and defect reduction
- Collaborate with Launch and Technology teams for launches impacting One Medical payment systems, ensuring seamless integration and operational readiness
- Define and monitor key process metrics (cycle times, error rates, payment accuracy, SLA adherence) and use data analysis to prioritize improvement initiatives and measure their impact
- Proactively identify incomplete or inaccurate financial data, determine root causes, execute fixes, and partner with relevant teams on long-term resolution
A day in the life
You start by triaging payment escalations and vendor inquiries, connecting with the service center team to resolve urgent issues. You'll investigate complex payment discrepancies across multiple financial systems, tracing them to root cause. Cross-functional syncs with Technology, Operations, and Launch teams keep you aligned on system changes impacting AP workflows. In the afternoon, you analyze processing data to spot error patterns, design process improvements, and update dashboards tracking key AP metrics. Your work directly reduces payment defects and strengthens controllership across One Medical's growing operations.
