DESCRIPTION:
Join our team as a Manager, Project Management for the Customs, Specials and OEM (CSO) team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. This role is based on site in Carlsbad. In this people manager role, you'll lead and develop your team while overseeing complex order management. You'll be responsible for balancing the workload across the CSO team, driving accountability and process improvements that enhance operational excellence. Your experience will contribute to implementing best practices, fostering innovation, and promoting continuous improvement aligned with our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of experience managing complex programs and project initiatives
- Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Engineering, Science or related field
- Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2, Agile) highly desirable
- 2+ years of people management experience leading cross-functional teams
- Project management capabilities with expertise in standard methodologies and tools
- Stakeholder management and communication skills across all organizational levels
- Experience in process improvement and change management
- Ability to develop and execute strategic plans while managing multiple priorities
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite
- Written and verbal communication skills in English
- Financial acumen and budget management experience
- Ability to influence in a matrix environment
- Experience in presenting to and engaging with leadership
- Facilitation and negotiation skills
- Experience in risk management and mitigation strategies
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
- Industry-specific experience (pharmaceutical, biotech, or scientific instruments) preferred
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$137,500.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
