Job Title – Director, Architecture


We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Application Architect to lead the evolution of Fidelity's Digital Vault platform—a critical enterprise capability for secure document exchange, transient storage, document attribute extraction, and controlled, authenticated, and auditable document interactions with internal and external parties.


The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in architecting and delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications. Strong experience in Cloud, APIs, Data, and AI is essential to define and execute the product roadmap, drive innovation, and ensure the platform continues to meet Fidelity's enterprise-wide needs.


The Purpose of This Role


  • The Architect will define and drive the strategic roadmap for Fidelity's Digital Vault platform, enhancing capabilities such as document extraction, intelligent document processing, document classification and management, secure data exchange, platform integrations, API- and feed-based consumption, and onboarding of new clients.
  • We are seeking a seasoned architect with deep expertise in document and data analysis, AI-driven extraction and classification, enterprise integrations, and secure document management. The ideal candidate will identify emerging business needs, evaluate new technologies, and leverage AI and automation to deliver innovative capabilities and maximize business value.
  • This is an Individual Contributor (Architecture) role based in Bengaluru, India. The Architect will partner closely with product, engineering, and architecture teams across Fidelity to define future-ready solutions, align with enterprise architecture standards and governance, build consensus across stakeholders, and drive successful execution of the technology strategy.
  • The individual should have extensive experience in the field of Cloud, API and AI/ML.

The Value You Deliver


As a Director Architecture, you will be responsible for

1. Develop a deep understanding of the Digital Vault ecosystem, current architecture, product roadmap, and future capability needs.

2. Partner with business, product, architecture, and engineering teams to assess current-state capabilities and define future-state solutions.

3. Drive modernization initiatives by defining architecture, recommending new capabilities, and increasing enterprise adoption of the platform.

4. Collaborate with Product Owners, AI specialists, and technology leaders to enable scalable, automated onboarding and intelligent document-processing solutions.

5. Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, governance practices, security requirements, and technology best practices.

6. Influence technology strategy, planning, and investment decisions by providing actionable insights and communicating effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.

7. Foster alignment across teams, build consensus on architectural decisions, and support successful execution of the product roadmap.

• API & Integration Architecture – REST APIs, API-first design, API governance, microservices, event-driven architecture, and enterprise integration patterns.

• Cloud Architecture (AWS Preferred) – AWS-native services, cloud modernization, scalability, resiliency, HA/DR, networking, and hybrid-cloud architectures.

• Intelligent Document Processing (AI/ML) – OCR, document classification, data extraction, Azure AI/Document Intelligence, GenAI-enabled document processing solutions.

• Enterprise Document Management Architecture – Document lifecycle management, metadata models, taxonomy, records management, retention, governance, and content services architecture.

• Workflow & Process Automation – Workflow orchestration, business process automation, case management, straight-through processing (STP), and task management integrations.

• Enterprise Platform Engineering – Platform design, service-oriented architecture, reusable platform services, observability, capacity planning, and operational excellence.

• Security & Information Protection – RBAC, authentication, authorization, API security, encryption, identity integration (Entra ID/OAuth/OIDC), and secure document handling.

• Data & Information Architecture – Metadata strategy, information modeling, data governance, data lineage, retention, archival, and search optimization.

• DevSecOps & Delivery Engineering – CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Azure DevOps/GitHub, automated testing, release management, and platform reliability practices.

• Compliance & Governance Architecture – Auditability, regulatory compliance, records governance, risk management, legal hold, privacy controls, and architecture standards.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization


ETSA (Enterprise Technology Solutions Architecture) group is a central architecture group part of the larger FAE group (Fidelity Architecture and Engineering). The architects are spread across multiple BUs in the ET supporting different business units like EICO, APS, ECS, Corporate Services Technology and so on. This architecture role is to support Digital Vault products which is part of the APS business unit part of the larger Enterprise Technology group.


Expertise we are looking for


• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or any other discipline

• Azure or AWS certification is good to have

• Certification in TOGAF or other Architecture framework is good to have

• Participation in Internal programs like Architecture Readiness or CAFÉ are a plus
