Senior Java Developer – Cloud & Microservices

Are you an experienced Java developer who enjoys modernizing complex, business-critical applications?

Join an international team working on financial-product, calculation, and vehicle-data platforms used across multiple markets. You will help maintain and evolve a hybrid application landscape built with Java, Quarkus, Jakarta EE, REST APIs, Kafka, AWS, Docker, React, SQL and NoSQL databases, and modern CI/CD tooling.

 

YOUR MISSION:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java backend services and APIs
• Build and enhance microservices using Quarkus, Jakarta EE, and event-driven patterns
• Support modernization from on-premises environments to AWS and container platforms
• Work with REST, SOAP, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and DocumentDB integrations
• Improve automated testing, CI/CD, code quality, security, monitoring, and release readiness
• Collaborate with developers, architects, Product Owners, and DevOps specialists in distributed agile teams
• Actively contribute to engineering best practices, mentoring, and knowledge sharing
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to role, level, location, effort, responsibility, skillset, and level of experience.

We are hiring at the following management levels, and any offer will align with the base pay range according to the level at which you are assessed:

Specialist: 2.050 - 4.050 €

Associate Manager: 2.550 - 4.800 €

WHO YOU ARE:  

• 5+ years of hands-on Java backend development experience
• Strong knowledge of Java enterprise development, microservices, and API design
• Experience with Quarkus, Jakarta EE, Spring, or a comparable Java framework
• Practical knowledge of REST, SQL databases, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD
• Experience with cloud or container technologies such as AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Ability to understand complex systems, work with legacy code, and take ownership of delivery
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills in an international environment
• English language at B2+ level for daily collaboration
• Fluent in Slovak language (C1+)

NICE TO HAVE

• Kafka and event-driven architecture
• React or JSF
• Terraform, Jenkins, Maven, Flyway, or GitHub Actions
• MongoDB, DocumentDB, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
• Observability, code-quality, or security tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, SonarQube, or Fortify
• Financial-services or another regulated-industry background
