Security Controller

Role Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced Security Controller to lead government security, vetting and security assurance across our Health & Public Safety and Aerospace & Defence Accounts.
You’ll provide senior-level security guidance and oversight across three key areas:
- Personnel security and vetting
- Facility and physical security
- Security governance and risk management
A key focus of the role will be managing complex and international security requirements, including overseas and dual nationals, multinational programmes and personnel who fall outside standard UK National Security Vetting arrangements.
You’ll also act as the named Security Controller and primary contact with the Industrial Security Assurance Centre (ISAC), working closely with senior leaders, clients, contracting authorities and security teams.
Responsibilities:
Personnel Security & Vetting
- Support the delivery of BPSS, SC and DV vetting in line with government requirements.
- Lead complex vetting cases involving non-UK and internationally mobile personnel.
- Manage F1686 approvals for UK subcontractors and overseas collaborations.
- Work with clients, programme teams and international security authorities to resolve clearance requirements.
- Maintain appropriate personnel security policies, records and risk controls.
Facility & Physical Security
- Oversee security across government-accredited facilities, including List X/List N sites and Government Classified Assets.
- Support physical security assessments, site reviews and accreditation activity.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place for access, visitors, secure areas and storage.
- Lead security assurance activity and provide clear reporting to senior leadership.
Security Governance & Risk
- Act as the named Security Controller and principal contact with ISAC.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK Government security requirements, including GovS 007, JSP 440, MOD CSM and Security Aspects Letters.
- Advise senior leaders and clients on security obligations, risks and controls.
- Lead the response to security incidents and breaches, including investigation, escalation and remediation.
- Chair the quarterly Security Working Group and drive improvements to security policies and processes.
- Provide security input into bids, proposals and new contracts.
- Deliver security awareness activities and promote a strong security culture.
Person Specification:
