The Role

Fidelity Capital Markets (FCM) is seeking a product associate to help support the Fixed Income Product Team’s digital fixed income trading experience! The role is foundational in a career defining the features, functions, and capabilities of our electronic offering. The purpose of the role will be to monitor trading systems, manage product and production incidents, perform remediation analysis, and represent the product team in resolving incidents. The group is looking for someone who has familiarity with fixed income trading, trade processing, and brokerage systems. Additionally, this person will work closely with internal business partners, product management, technology, and operations staff to decompose, analyze, and improve existing trading processes.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or another relevant quantitative field
• 2-5 years of professional experience in product development, infrastructure technology, fixed income trading, operations, or risk management/systems
• Meticulous with a spirit of agency and ownership when addressing anything that poses a risk to our customers or our business
• Experience collaborating with business partners such as Tech/ Sales & Trading/ Legal/Risk/Compliance
• Strong communication skills
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of, interest in, and enthusiasm for supporting Fidelity Capital Markets’ fixed income brokerage offering
• Series 7 and Series 63 (or must be obtained within 120 days of hire)

The Value You Deliver

Proactively identify and resolve high-impact production enhancements across the Fixed Income Product team’s stack

• Serve as day and afternoon point of contact for all fixed income production issues. Represent the Fixed Income Product Team and proactively engage associated partners when necessary.
• Understand high-level technical components and workflows associated with all Fixed Income products
• Work alongside product owners to bring awareness to product issues, and prioritize any fixes by assessing business impact
• Work with development, QA, and product teams to scope, prioritize and manage delivery of essential improvements
• Manage backlog of tasks and enhancements with Fidelity development team(s) to assess progress and represent business interests

Refine & enhance processes for managing production issues across all Fixed Income trading applications and products

• Work with product owners, technology, and business partners to create a resilient technology risk mitigation plan
• Represent Fixed Income Product on all fixed income production issues, and proactively involve associated stakeholders when needed
• Organize production issue resolution meetings and after-action reviews (AARs) with associated stakeholders and executives

Conduct production and product impact analysis

• Create tables and/or perform queries in a timely manner when data is needed to assess product or production impact(s)
• Possess sharp decision-making skills and consider the impact to Product & FCM (e.g., when representing Product on prod issue calls, meetings, etc.)

Support the end-to-end product vision & implementation

• Assist QA teams & product owners in performing UAT testing for trading-related workflows
• Proactively monitor daily electronic connectivity and trading activity

The Team

The Fixed Income Product Solutions team partners with the broader Fidelity Capital Markets Fixed Income organization to build electronic brokerage capabilities and implement data science initiatives to better serve our customers and drive our business forward. We regularly partner with the data science organization, technology teams, trading, sales, and other product organizations to build Fixed Income solutions that serve both Retail and Institutional clients.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-120,000 USD per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
