Benchmarking Program Manager, Cloud Economics Scale

Build the proof that convinces customers to move to AWS. As a Benchmarking Program Manager, you will create and evangelize new benchmarking studies that quantify the KPI-driven benefits customers can achieve on AWS — the credible, data-backed evidence that AWS field teams and customers rely on to build the business case for cloud. You own these studies end to end, and once they scale, your work becomes the standard the field sells on. This is a rare seat with real autonomy: you will own the full study lifecycle, including the external vendor relationship, and you will shape how cloud value is measured and communicated across internal and external audiences. You will partner across teams to understand the needs of internal and external users, develop plans to scale each study's impact, and find innovative ways to apply benchmark insights to value-based business cases for cloud adoption. Key job responsibilities
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to design studies and communicate the market realities of running IT applications and infrastructure in the cloud versus a traditional data center.
- Develop and conduct new benchmarking studies that help customers understand the financial and operational benefits of the cloud.
- Own the entire benchmarking study process and the external vendor relationship, including creating RFPs and evaluating, selecting, and managing vendors.
- Develop and execute go-to-market and scaling mechanisms that put new studies in front of the field and customers.
- Design and manage program impact-tracking metrics for management reporting.

A day in the life
You might start the morning reviewing preliminary data from a vendor-led benchmarking study, then jump into a working session with AWS field teams to understand which customer pain points the next study should address. After lunch you could be drafting the go-to-market narrative for a recently completed study, collaborating with marketing and sales enablement to ensure the messaging resonates. Later, you will connect with an external research vendor to align on methodology and timelines, and close out the day by updating your program dashboard so leadership has a clear view of study pipeline and impact.

About the team
The AWS Cloud Economics Scale team builds tools, intellectual property, and methodology to help customers identify and quantify value creation opportunities at each stage of their journey to the cloud. We engage directly and collaboratively with customers and internal AWS teams to deliver cloud value expertise. The Cloud Economics Scale team helps answer the question: "What value can I expect to achieve by using AWS?"

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups) at an advanced level

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
