Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing North America Commercial Bank Cards Sales team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and consistent overachievement of business goals.
- Serve as a player-coach, maintaining direct responsibility for originating, managing, and closing strategic Commercial Card opportunities while leading team performance across the region.
- Develop and execute the regional Cards sales strategy, driving client acquisition, portfolio growth, revenue expansion, spend penetration, and market share gains.
- Proactively identify, pursue, and win new client opportunities through disciplined prospecting and business development activities, demonstrating a strong hunter mentality.
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and ensure effective execution against individual and team revenue, acquisition, and wallet growth targets.
- Establish Commercial Cards as a strategic priority within the Commercial Bank by building strong partnerships across Banking, Treasury Solutions, Risk, Product, Operations, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and leverage a broad internal network, including senior management and executive stakeholders, to drive awareness, sponsorship, and support for Cards initiatives and opportunities.
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers, Bankers, and Product partners to identify opportunities, execute sales strategies, and deliver integrated client solutions.
- Drive sales excellence through implementation of best practices, consistent pipeline management, performance tracking, and sharing of successful sales strategies across the organization.
- Lead complex client engagements, presentations, negotiations, and solution design discussions, ensuring solutions align with client needs while meeting risk and profitability objectives.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitive dynamics, client needs, and emerging payment solutions to inform strategic sales decisions.
- Work closely with Product Management to provide market feedback and help shape product enhancements, positioning, and go-to-market strategies.
- Ensure adherence to all risk, compliance, regulatory, and governance requirements while appropriately balancing risk and reward in business decisions.
- Build a culture of responsible finance, strong governance, effective controls, expense discipline, and ethical decision-making.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients, and assets through compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Commercial Cards, Payments, Treasury, Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, or related B2B sales environments.
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales, revenue, and client acquisition goals.
- Demonstrated success as both a people leader and top-performing individual contributor.
- Strong hunter mentality with a passion for new business development, opportunity creation, and winning in competitive environments.
- Exceptional ability to build, influence, and leverage internal networks across a complex matrix organization.
- Experience partnering with and influencing senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and ability to translate opportunities into measurable business results.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change and adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Highly disciplined, self-motivated, and execution-focused with strong attention to detail.
- Combination of commercial, analytical, and relationship-management skills.
- Experience with credit, risk management, and transaction approval processes is beneficial.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
