SENIOR MANAGER, DRUG PRODUCT ANALYTICS
POSITION SUMMARY
You will lead a team of Analytical Scientists supporting Pfizer’s small-molecule portfolio from early development through commercialization. You will provide scientific and people leadership for analytical development, control strategy, and project delivery, working closely with Drug Product Development and Supply and other CMC functions.
You will be accountable for defining phase-appropriate analytical strategies, translating scientific data into clear project recommendations, and ensuring robust analytical deliverables aligned with program timelines and regulatory expectations. You will also coach and develop scientists, strengthen technical capabilities, and identify opportunities to improve development speed, scientific quality, and operational efficiency through new technologies and ways of working.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of analytical scientists, fostering technical excellence, engagement, and career growth.
- Provide strategic leadership for analytical development and phase-appropriate control strategies across small molecule development programs from early development through commercialization.
- Serve as the analytical lead within multidisciplinary CMC teams, influencing project strategy, risk management, and key development decisions.
- Provide strategic and technical leadership for regulatory submissions, including development and defense of analytical control strategies and responses to health authority questions.
- Lead analytical activities executed through CROs, CMOs, and external partners, ensuring high-quality delivery, scientific oversight, and effective resource utilization.
- Establish and execute analytical project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource strategies, and risk mitigation plans aligned with overall CMC objectives.
- Build strong partnerships across Drug Product Development and Supply, Drug Substance Development, Regulatory, Quality, Clinical Supply, and Commercial organizations to accelerate delivery of development milestones.
- Identify and implement innovative technologies, digital capabilities, and new ways of working that improve scientific outcomes, efficiency, and speed to patients.
- Contribute to the broader Analytical Research & Development organization through scientific leadership, talent development, operational excellence, and strategic initiatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline with 1+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience , OR
- MS in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline with 5+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
- 1 year of experience leading a small- to mid-sized team of Analytical Scientists
- Experience driving cross functional initiatives through matrix teams
- Experience leading analytical contributions to regulatory submissions, including development and defense of analytical strategies, specifications, and control strategies.
- Strong track record of working within and influencing cross-functional CMC development teams to deliver project milestones.
- Experience providing scientific and operational oversight of analytical activities conducted through CROs, CMOs, and external partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience translating complex technical issues into clear scientific and business recommendations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of formulation and process development, stability, specifications, product performance, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $139,100.00 to $231,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
