Our team is a diverse and nimble group that manages Apple’s corporate and retail workplaces and workplace services. We develop and manage Apple’s global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world.

The Space Planning team is responsible for establishing and driving efficient real estate strategies that support Apple's corporate space needs. We're hiring a Strategic Space Planner: an individual contributor who will be dedicated to Americas (AMR) geographic markets to lead strategic planning and migration across the portfolio.

Description

You'll drive occupancy strategy and implementation across the AMR portfolio, ensuring space supply proactively aligns with business demand. As an action-oriented workplace strategist, you'll lead end-to-end space planning initiatives and collaborate closely with business units to translate their location strategies into scalable workplace solutions.

You're comfortable navigating ambiguity, proactively seeking clarification, weighing competing priorities against business impact, and adapting plans as business requirements evolve. You bring a data analytics background to evaluate utilization metrics, analyze capacity forecasts, and translate quantitative insights into actionable recommendations that optimize the portfolio.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a market plan of record (POR) that meets business objectives and maintains balanced portfolio metrics. This work ranges from large-scale campus planning to tactical, building-level projects and lab expansion projects that address emerging needs within the market or business.
Utilizing occupancy analytics and forecasting- analyze complex workplace datasets to uncover utilization trends, benchmark portfolio efficiency, and model future square-footage and seat-allocation requirements.
Rapid and agile scenario planning to evaluate shifting headcount, organizational changes, and emerging business needs to design flexible space scenarios and contingency plans that minimize operational disruption.
Translate spatial data and occupancy metrics into clear, executive-ready presentations, data visualizations, and strategic business cases that guide leadership on real estate investments and portfolio optimization.
Serve as the primary Places contact for assigned business units, leading planning discussions, facilitating space negotiations, and building trusted, long-term partnerships.
Partner closely with Real Estate, Facilities, Project Management, Workplace Design, and Places Finance teams to ensure integrated market solutions fulfill business needs and adhere to Places workplace standards.
Coordinate seamless project handoffs from Space Planning to Project Management for approved space conversions and capital projects.

Minimum Qualifications

7+ years of experience in workplace strategy, strategic space planning, or corporate occupancy planning, preferably within a technology company or corporate campus.
Experience managing multiple space planning projects from conception through implementation.
Experience applying occupancy metrics, space utilization analysis, and scenario modeling to inform stakeholder decisions.
Experience synthesizing spatial data into visual presentations and business cases for executive audiences.
Experience negotiating space allocations and resolving competing stakeholder priorities.
Working knowledge of Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) and Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) platforms such as (Serraview, Archibus, Tririga, or FM:Systems).

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Real Estate (MRED), Urban Planning, Architecture, or Business Administration (MBA), and/or PMP certification.
Proficiency in Keynote and business intelligence or data visualization platforms, such as Tableau, Power BI, or advanced Excel modeling.
Familiarity with project management platforms, such as Wrike.
Understanding of architectural drawings, test-fits, building code implications, and core-and-shell conditions.
Experience leveraging AI-driven tools to accelerate scenario planning, optimize multi-floor stacking diagrams, and analyze space data.
Skilled at influencing stakeholders and communicating complex trade-offs clearly to drive alignment.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $140,700 and $211,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
