We live in a mobile and device driven world where knowledge of the physical world around us is needed. We rely on this knowledge to get around, to learn about our environment, and to enable spectacular new features for custom applications. Apple is meeting those needs as robustly and creatively as possible and is interested in people who want to help meet that commitment. The success we are striving for will be the result of very skilled people working in an environment which cultivates creativity, partnership, and thinking of old problems in new ways. Leading a cross-functional team through failure analysis to identify root-cause and inform corrective actions.
Coordinating and managing the path-to-closure on complex, multi-faceted issues.
Applying rigorous and thoughtful experimental design to reduce design risk/uncertainty as quickly as possible.
Running tolerance studies to ensure designs are feasible over manufacturing tolerances.
Communicating to Apple’s engineering leadership in concise, comprehensive technical depth. In the prototyping and validation phases, you will support external manufacturing vendors with process development and root cause analysis for issues found during testing.
Minimum Qualifications
Hands-on experience in mechanical design, failure analysis, or product validation.
Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drafting 2D technical drawings (GD&T).
Strong track record of applying structured root-cause methodologies and experimental design (DOE) to resolve complex electromechanical issues.
Ability and willingness to travel internationally (5%–10%) to support vendor bring-up and factory builds.
Minimum requirement of a bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
