The Global Partnerships team is responsible for cultivating and managing Mastercard’s strategic partnerships with key players across the payments’ ecosystem. The team works with global players in tech, e-commerce, and financial services to create innovative, differentiated products and solutions that shape the future of commerce. The Global Financial Institutions (GFI) vertical in Global Partnerships focuses on managing our strategic partnerships with key global financial institutions.

The Vice President, Account Management – Global Financial Institutions (GFI) is a leadership role, accountable for driving growth, profitability, and strategic alignment with one of Mastercard’s largest global financial institution partners.

Reporting to the SVP, Global Financial Institutions, this role leads a high-performing, globally distributed account team and owns the end-to-end strategy for the partnership.

We seek a self-motivated, structured problem solver with a strategic mindset and the ability to establish strong relationships both internally and externally. This is a high-impact, customer-facing role at the intersection of commercial strategy and partnership execution.


Role
- Own and execute the regional account strategy, driving revenue growth, share gains, and long-term value creation for both Mastercard and the client.
- Identify and scale strategic opportunities across issuing, emerging payment flows, new products, and platforms.
- Manage senior level engagement with regional senior stakeholders, positioning Mastercard as a strategic partner, not a vendor.
- Deliver against revenue, volume, and P&L targets; own account financial performance.
- Lead complex RFP, pricing, and contract negotiations, including renewals and competitive retention strategies.
- Execute integrated sales and business development plans in partnership with product, marketing, and regional teams.
- Deeply understand the client’s business, operating model, and strategic priorities, and align Mastercard capabilities accordingly.
- Ensure consistently high client satisfaction across products, services, innovation, and relationship management.
- Lead, and develop a diverse, high-performing global account team.
- Orchestrate cross-functional alignment across sales, product, marketing, technology, legal, compliance, risk, and operations.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
