Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the hardware infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud and AI capabilities at scale. Our mission is to deliver the world's computer with an industry-leading supply chain. The CSCP organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as plan, source, make, deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), sustainability, and decommissioning of datacenter assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end fulfillment operations for network hardware and infrastructure deployments across global regions.
  • Drive on-time delivery performance while balancing supply constraints, inventory optimization, and business priorities.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing partners, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to resolve fulfillment challenges.
  • Monitor supply chain health through operational metrics and proactively address risks impacting deployment schedules.
  • Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across supply planning, procurement, engineering, datacenter operations, logistics, and finance.
  • Define program objectives, success metrics, implementation plans, and stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives focused on automation, process optimization, scalability, and operational excellence.
  • Develop executive-ready communications, status reporting, risk assessments, and business reviews.
  • Identify process gaps and drive improvements that enhance customer experience, cycle time, operational efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Leverage data, analytics, and automation tools to improve forecasting accuracy, order management, fulfillment visibility, and execution outcomes.
  • Design and implement scalable business processes supporting global infrastructure growth.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring operational issues.
  • Assess supply chain risks related to capacity, inventory, logistics, trade compliance, and supplier performance.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and recovery plans to support business continuity.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure operational readiness for new product introductions, technology transitions, and global market expansions.
  • Build partnerships across engineering, procurement, planning, logistics, datacenter operations, finance, and supplier organizations.
  • Influence decisions through data-driven recommendations and business insights.
  • Facilitate alignment across diverse stakeholder groups while managing competing priorities.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 7+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, materials requirement planning systems and tools, quantitative & qualitative analysis in cross functional or organizational enterprise environment, or related experience OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 5+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, Sales & Operations Planning, materials requirement planning systems and tools, quantitative & qualitative analysis in cross functional or organizational enterprise environment, or related experience OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

  • Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, network hardware, datacenter operations, or technology supply chains.
  • Knowledge of fulfillment, planning, inventory management, supplier operations, and logistics processes.
  • Experience with business intelligence, analytics, automation, or AI-driven operational solutions.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, APICS, or related certifications.
  • Experience leading global programs across multiple regions and stakeholder groups.


Supply Planning IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
