Description

As an Apple FOC Operator, you will ensure the performance of critical infrastructure monitoring systems. You will own all activities in critical spaces, respond to alarms, lead incident management, and uphold Apple maintenance standards. This fast-paced role requires strong situational awareness, clear communication, and sound decision-making. Critical Facilities operations monitors work 12 hours per day including graveyard, weekend, and holiday shifts and may work overtime depending on business needs.

Responsibilities

Manage and monitor all controls and monitoring systems — including Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, Building Management Systems, Fire/Life Safety, Generator Systems, and Facility Networks — and manipulate control systems as required based on maintenance activities and direction from onsite supervision
Identify critical events and lead the incident management process, running Emergency Operating Procedures until relieved by management, and escalating issues per the current escalation policy
Maintain and update logs and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards
Perform or ensure completion of daily rounds and readings, verify health of building monitoring systems, and employ data-driven analysis to identify and address infrastructure issues
Manage all FOC communications and disseminate information to relevant stakeholders during normal operations and incidents
Implement Change Requests for planned facilities work, open incident tickets for break/fix activities, and update work orders with vendor time and notes in the maintenance management system
Provide updates during turnover meetings on outstanding issues, conduct or participate in daily staff meetings, and ensure the FOC is staffed and maintained at all times
Collaborate with facilities peers, management, and external vendors while maintaining comprehensive documentation of system changes and site health.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers — ensuring accurate check-in/check-out, evaluating vendor performance, and escalating concerns to management as needed

Minimum Qualifications

2+ years experience with EPMS, BMS and/or FLS controls systems
1–3 years of experience in critical facilities, data center environments, industrial plant operations, mission-critical operations center, or military technical ratings (e.g., Navy Nuclear/EM/ET/MM, Navy GSM, USAF mechanical/electrical).
Experience with maintenance management tools such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or similar
Experience with or exposure to mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems
Physical ability to perform tasks that require sitting, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
Capability to work in varying temperature environments (60°F to 110°F) and follow OSHA work-rest cycles
Flexibility to work varied shifts, 12-hour day or graveyard shifts, with a readiness for overtime as decided by business needs
