Product Portfolio Manager, Employee Experience & Productivity

Apple's Employee Experience and Productivity team is seeking a Senior Program Manager to drive the planning, execution, and reporting that keep our most important projects on track. You will be the operational backbone across multiple concurrent projects and portfolio-level reporting, working hand in hand with product management and engineering to turn strategy into predictable, well-run delivery.

Employee Experience and Productivity (EEP) is part of IS&T and delivers some of the most widely used communication and productivity technology and services across Apple — from tools that enable collaboration to the support teams that keep Apple's workforce running. EEP also leads user experience design and research, and manages the systems behind Apple's original content studios.

Description

In this role, you will own the cadence, structure, and cross-functional coordination that move a portfolio of products from idea to launch and beyond. You will maintain detailed project plans, track milestones and schedules, and keep a clear-eyed view of risks and dependencies so that leadership always knows where things stand and what needs attention. You will own weekly status reporting for individual projects and consolidated portfolio-level reporting, delivering accurate, clear, and on-time updates that stakeholders and senior leadership can rely on.
You will partner closely with product management, acting as the connective tissue between roadmap intent and day-to-day execution. You will help translate product priorities into actionable plans, keep timelines and dependencies aligned to what the product managers are trying to achieve, and make sure the realities of delivery flow back into product planning. You will also work alongside an embedded Engineering Program Manager to ensure technical workstreams are reflected accurately in overall program status, and you will drive coordination across engineering, design, operations, and other partner teams so that dependencies are visible, handoffs are smooth, and blockers are resolved quickly. You should possess finely-tuned critical thinking skills, strong organizational instincts, a bias for clarity, and the ability to move fluidly between the details of a project plan and the bigger picture leadership needs to see.

Responsibilities

Own the preparation and delivery of weekly status reports for multiple projects, along with consolidated portfolio-level reporting, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and on-time distribution to leadership and stakeholders.
Maintain and manage detailed project plans, milestone tracking, and schedule management across concurrent projects, proactively flagging deviations and driving corrective action.
Partner closely with product management to align plans, timelines, and dependencies to product priorities, translating roadmap intent into executable plans and carrying delivery realities back into product planning.
Identify, document, and actively track risks and issues, developing and maintaining a risk register with mitigation and contingency plans.
Drive coordination across engineering, design, operations, and other partner teams, ensuring dependencies are visible, handoffs are smooth, and blockers are resolved quickly.
Facilitate and maintain alignment across cross-functional stakeholders through structured communication, meeting facilitation, and clear documentation of decisions and action items.
Partner with the Engineering Program Manager to ensure technical workstreams are reflected accurately in overall program status and plans.
Support standard program management functions across the portfolio, including meeting facilitation, agenda management, retrospectives, and process documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years experience in product or project management, in technology or product-driven environments.
5+ years experience with project tracking tools such as Jira or Wrike.
5+ years experience owning executive-facing status reports and portfolio-level dashboards.
BS degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Solid risk management skills, including identification, documentation, and active mitigation tracking across a portfolio.
Track record of partnering closely with product management, translating product priorities and roadmaps into well-run delivery and feeding execution insight back into planning.
Experience collaborating with or alongside an Engineering Program Manager or technical program management function.
Familiarity with portfolio-level reporting frameworks and operating cadences.
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification.
Background in technology and employee-facing internal productivity tools or SaaS.
Experience working in a matrixed organization, building alignment across teams without direct authority.
Strong prioritization skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects of varying lengths while managing trade offs that align to portfolio and organizational strategy.
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.
Excellent cross-functional coordination and stakeholder communication skills, with strong written and verbal communication.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $114,900 and $211,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
