The Delivery Experience Speed Tech (DEX Speed Tech) team is redefining fast delivery for millions of Amazon customers worldwide—enabling “need-it-now” convenience through innovative programs and technology. We build and launch customer-facing innovations across sub-same day (SSD) and ultra-fast delivery services, working at the intersection of software, fulfillment, and retail operations.

As an SDE 2 on the DEX Speed Tech team, you'll develop customer-facing features for sub-same day (SSD) and ultra-fast delivery services. You'll work in a dynamic environment where your code directly impacts customer experience and delivery operations.

Key job responsibilities
1) Design and implement scalable software solutions for Speed delivery tracking and notifications
2) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build customer-facing features
3) Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage
4) Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
5) Debug production issues and implement improvements
6) Contribute to team's technical documentation
7) Mentor junior engineers on the team

A day in the life
You will be part of setting the team culture, quality bar, engineering best practices, and norms. Delivering iteratively to customers and earning trust with your team will be the primary ways you measure your own success. Recognizing that there's often more to learn from failure than success, you'll experiment constantly. You will build full-stack solutions as needed, including front-end and back-end. You will architect, code and build scalable systems, and know that if a challenge is not a little scary, it’s probably not worth doing.

About the team
The team knows that amazing results come from your smart, creative, empathic teammates. Everyone actively participates in improving the team culture every day by fostering inclusion and believe giving feedback with genuine caring is how the team grows together. The team is stronger with you in it because you make those around you better while never making them feel less.
