Job Description

Would you like to be part of an exciting agile team building the Next Generation Cloud Infrastructure Automation platform for Visa?

 

Does the idea of solving challenging technical problems and getting to the bottom of layered intricacies intrigue you? Do you have the zeal and persistence to see through our vision — from design to go-live — and make it a reality?

  

Join our team to build the web experiences and services that power, extend, and showcase Visa's internal Cloud platform. This includes capabilities for requesting and managing environments across VMs, containers, and bare metal; workflow automation and orchestration; graphs and visualizations for relationships and utilization; and infrastructure-as-code tooling that lets other teams consume the platform programmatically.

 

You'll create efficient, reusable systems with extensive test coverage, using modern technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform, and Temporal-based workflow orchestration. You'll work in a rapidly iterative environment where we prototype new user interfaces and services and ship code frequently — with real ownership of architectural, product, and technological decisions.

 

 Essential Functions:

  - Design, develop, and maintain scalable, distributed, multi-threaded applications

  - Write high-quality, testable, production-ready code

  - Apply Generative AI and agentic patterns to build self-service and self-healing automation capabilities within the platform

  - Showcase excellent debugging and problem-solving skills

  - Be a proactive player with a passion for delivering zero-defect, high-quality code

  - Collaborate with team members and participate in design reviews, development, and code reviews

  - Align with direction from Management, Technology, and Business partners to deliver robust, usable solutions that meet functional requirements

  - Create documentation and procedures for development, deployment, and maintenance

  - Deliver all assigned responsibilities on time and with a high level of quality

 

 

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

 Basic Qualifications

  - 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  - 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)

  - Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and programming concepts

  - Experience building REST-based web services and web applications using Java and Spring Framework

  - Understanding of Generative AI technologies and agentic frameworks, and the ability to think creatively about applying them to improve and automate within the payment technology space

  - Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate GenAI solutions into existing systems

  - Experience writing asynchronous, workflow-driven automation; familiarity with orchestration engines such as Temporal is a strong plus

  - Experience with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS (React or Angular)

  - Building microservices that connect to MySQL, MongoDB, and Kafka

  - Strong understanding and hands-on expertise with Microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes

  - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and building automation around their APIs

  - Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code, and hands-on experience with Terraform for automation and orchestration of platform services

  - Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Splunk, CloudWatch, and/or the ELK stack

  - Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows; familiarity with Linux is highly desired

  - Agentic Framework: Understanding of the agentic framework and mindset for leveraging Generative AI."

Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $110,700.00 to $ 171,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
