Job Description

About the Role:

As a Warehouse Operations professional, you will support daily manufacturing and logistics activities by monitoring scheduled activities by shift, coordinating orders and door assignments, and supporting the dispatch and receipt of trucks and contract carriers. You will manage materials, shipments, requisitions, and inventory while ensuring activities are completed accurately and in accordance with Takeda's safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. You will report to the Warehouse Supervisor and work closely with Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, and other departments to ensure materials and shipments are available when needed.

Operating Hours: Monday-Friday from 10:00am - 6:30pm

How You Will Contribute:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant warehouse environment, including ambient warehouse areas, H3 Chemical Storage Room, +5°C and -20°C storage areas, and TSA cages.

  • Receive, inspect, organize, and fulfill material orders and requisitions.

  • Perform physical and cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Inspect incoming materials and prepare required receipt documentation and material tags.

  • Operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and other material handling equipment.

  • Perform material put-aways and manage intermediates in designated storage locations.

  • Pull materials, chemicals, and intermediates for manufacturing and other departmental requisitions.

  • Complete and process incoming requisitions, including MSR, WTR, and MTL requests; verify staged materials and accurately key out requisitions.

  • Complete TSA-related documentation and support activities requiring TSA, IATA, and DOT compliance.

  • Prepare documentation and orders for domestic and international shipments.

  • Partner with the Logistics team to coordinate shipments and transportation activities.

  • Pack and ship domestic and international samples, intermediates, hazardous materials, and returns in accordance with applicable requirements.

  • Perform material disposition activities in partnership with Manufacturing.

  • Transact and deliver materials to manufacturing areas.

  • Partner with QARI to receive and process incoming temperature-controlled shipments.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and Tier meetings.

  • Support removal of hazardous waste, when applicable.

  • Monitor warehouse and facility conditions, including safety, cleanliness, temperature, and general operational functionality.

  • Support transportation activities between the Van Nuys and Los Angeles sites as needed.

What You Bring to Takeda:

  • High school diploma or GED and 1+ year of related experience; an Associate's degree or higher may be considered in lieu of prior experience.

  • Experience working in a warehouse, logistics, materials management, manufacturing, or similarly regulated environment is beneficial.

  • Knowledge of intrastate driving requirements.

  • Proficiency in written and verbal English.

  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems and PC-based environments.

  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment/PIT equipment.

  • Ability to accurately count materials and perform basic mathematical calculations, with or without a calculator.

  • Ability to accurately complete required warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory, and regulatory documentation.

  • Ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy.

  • Ability to monitor and respond appropriately to facility conditions and operational requirements.

Important Considerations:

In this role, you may:

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleanroom garments, which may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full-body gowns, hair nets, gloves, and hearing protection.

  • Work in cold, wet, hot, or other non-traditional warehouse and manufacturing environments, including +5°C and -20°C storage areas.

  • Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers, and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

  • Work around human blood plasma and in areas supporting plasma-related manufacturing operations.

  • Work multiple shifts, including weekends and holidays, and work supplemental hours or overtime as needed to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

  • Work in cleanroom and controlled storage environments.

  • Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Work in confined areas or spaces as required.

  • Complete a DOT medical examination and maintain the required certification.

  • Successfully complete required Department of Transportation (DOT) and Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) background checks and maintain continued compliance.

  • Successfully complete a hands-on road test using a bobtail truck.

  • Support transportation activities between the Van Nuys and Los Angeles sites.

  • Follow all applicable TSA, IATA, DOT, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements associated with the role.
