Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Training Apprentice

Location: Thousand Oaks, CA

About the role:

The Manufacturing Training Apprentice supports the delivery, coordination, documentation, and continuous improvement of training programs for manufacturing personnel in a GMP-regulated environment. This role provides hands-on experience in training administration, curriculum development, qualification tracking, and manufacturing operations while developing proficiency in cGMP, GDP, safety, and Lean principles. The apprentice will collaborate with manufacturing and cross-functional teams to support effective training, maintain accurate training documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

How you will contribute:

  • Support onboarding and training activities for manufacturing associates and trainers.
  • Coordinate training schedules with supervisors, trainers, and manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain accurate training records, curricula, qualification status, and completion tracking.
  • Assist with identifying training gaps and escalating overdue or incomplete training requirements.
  • Prepare, update, and organize training materials, presentations, job aids, and SOP-based content.
  • Support the facilitation of classroom, practical, and on-the-floor training.
  • Ensure training documentation complies with cGMP and Good Documentation Practices.
  • Support training-related activities associated with CAPAs, Change Controls, investigations, and other quality initiatives.
  • Participate in trainer meetings, manufacturing training forums, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist with evaluating training effectiveness and gathering feedback from learners and stakeholders.
  • Support Lean, DMAIC, and other process-improvement initiatives related to training and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Business Excellence, Manufacturing, and other support functions.
  • Promote safe work practices and compliance with site procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with employee training information.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Strong interest in manufacturing training, employee development, life sciences, or instructional design.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across teams.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and the ability to learn training systems and electronic documentation platforms.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn cGMP, GDP, SOPs, safety requirements, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proactive, adaptable, collaborative, and enthusiastic approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, laboratory, education, training coordination, or a regulated environment is preferred but not required.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

• Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

• Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

• Work in a cold, wet environment.

• Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

• Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
