Title and Summary

Senior Specialist, Product Experience Design

Mastercard Payment Services is looking for a high-impact Product Experience Designer to join Nordic Product Development. This is a senior specialist role for someone who wants to shape new payment products from early idea to signed-off concept — translating customer needs, market insights, research and business opportunities into compelling concepts, prototypes and product experiences.

You will work at the intersection of product discovery, design, UX and concept design. Together with product, commercial, engineering and market teams, you will help assess and validate new initiatives, design prototypes, test concepts with users and customers, and help turn validated ideas into high-level business requirements and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities:

- Product discovery and experience design from early idea to validated concept — framing problems, mapping journeys, ideating solutions, prototyping and testing.
- Translate customer, consumer and market insights into sharper value propositions, stronger product concepts and clearer investment recommendations.
- Create high-quality prototypes, flows, wireframes and design artefacts in Figma, using Mastercard’s design system to deliver consistent, scalable product experiences.
- Turn research, studies and test results into practical improvements to the UX, customer journey, concept and commercial proposition.
- Contribute to pitch decks, business cases and commercial analysis by making concepts tangible, user value clear and opportunities easy to understand.
- Facilitate design sprints, co-creation sessions, event storming workshops and customer-facing discovery activities.
- Partner with Product Development, Product Management and Engineering to ensure concepts are desirable, viable, feasible and ready for delivery handover.
- Define high-level experience requirements, user flows, business requirements and acceptance criteria that give development teams clear product direction.
- Use an AI-native mindset to accelerate discovery, prototyping, research synthesis and communication without compromising quality.
- Own assigned products and initiatives with curiosity, structure and drive — helping teams move from ambiguity to clear, testable direction.

All About You

The ideal candidate is a senior UX, UI or Product Designer who combines strategic product thinking with hands-on design craft. You are comfortable operating before all answers are known, and you know how to turn insights, ideas and uncertainty into prototypes, concepts and recommendations that create momentum.

- You have strong experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or Product Designer, preferably working on mobile, web, payments, commerce or other digital product experiences.
- You are highly skilled in Figma and confident working with design systems, reusable patterns and scalable design practices.
- You consider yourself AI-native and use AI deliberately to increase speed, improve quality and unlock new ways of working.
- You know how to translate customer needs, research, test results and business goals into prototypes, journeys, concepts and product recommendations.
- You have planned or facilitated design sprints, co-creation sessions, event storming or similar collaborative discovery formats.
- You have strong storytelling and presentation skills and can explain design choices in a way that creates alignment and buy-in across senior stakeholders, product teams and technology partners.
- You are structured, commercially curious and interested in understanding the technical side of the product well enough to make better design decisions.
- Experience in payments, eCommerce, consumer payments or commerce is a strong advantage — especially if you have helped build a new product from the ground up.
- You are comfortable working in agile environments and collaborating closely with product owners, developers, architects and commercial teams.
- You are fluent in English and available for occasional short-term travel.
