Buyer Risk Prevention (BRP) designs and builds the software systems, risk models and operational processes that minimize risk and maximize trust in Amazon. Not only do we protect all aspects of the Amazon shopping experience, we also deliver services to large and small merchants hosted on the Amazon platform. In addition, we evaluate new business opportunities from across the company to determine how we can minimize the risk associated with new initiatives.
We are seeking an experienced Manager that will lead the Buyer Compliance, Risk Assessments, and Audits vertical for the Payment Risk organization. Within this role, you will oversee a team of Program and Risk Managers that will support the Suspicious Activity Monitoring (SAM) and Know Your Customer (KYC) verticals for the Gift Card (GC) and Business 2 Business (B2B) cohorts WW. Additionally, you will operate at the intersection of fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, and customer experience. Ensuring Amazon maintains trust and regulatory adherence across global markets for regulated products.
Key job responsibilities
- Define program mission, vision, and objectives while developing clear success criteria and metrics to measure progress and outcomes for the Buyer Compliance Program.
- Drive cross-functional alignment by facilitating discussions with stakeholders across teams and organizations, ensuring crisp decision-making and shared understanding of priorities.
-Manage the non-transactional audit space — scoping, executing, and delivering audit findings with clear recommendations.
-Represent the team in regulatory discussions and external partner engagements as needed.
-Drive the risk assessment program, including defining risk frameworks, identifying gaps, and ensuring appropriate controls are in place. This involves leveraging our launch acceleration risk assessment framework, but also managing manual risk assessments as needed.
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively, solve ambiguous problems, and manage dependencies to keep programs on track and reduce exposure to common failure modes.
- Analyze data to inform program strategy, regularly review metrics for visibility, and communicate progress and recommendations through effective narratives to directors and vice presidents.
- Partner with engineering and business teams to determine project prioritization, streamline processes, and eliminate bottlenecks that slow innovation or degrade the customer experience.
