Citi is looking for an experienced Lead Quality Engineering Analyst to join our technology team and play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and performance of software systems that underpin global financial services operations. In this senior individual contributor position, you will serve as a recognized technical authority for IT quality, shaping testing strategy, mentoring junior colleagues, and driving continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle. Your work will directly influence the effectiveness of a broad technology function, ensuring that high-quality, compliant, and resilient applications reach production.
Responsibilities
Design and implement comprehensive testing strategies encompassing functional, automation, regression, and user acceptance testing to support application releases into production.
Monitor software products and development processes for conformance to quality standards, identifying risks and ensuring findings are documented, tracked, and resolved.
Conduct root cause analyses on quality issues, recommend targeted improvements to existing standards and procedures, and collaborate with technology teams to develop new frameworks where needed.
Partner with technology project managers and business stakeholders across multiple levels of management to align testing approaches with project goals and communicate process changes effectively.
Maintain and report on quality metrics to provide transparency into testing coverage, defect trends, and overall product health across the portfolio.
Verify traceability across project work products, ensuring all corrective actions are assigned, documented, and completed in line with agreed timelines.
Act as a mentor and advisor to junior team members, sharing expertise in testing methodologies, quality standards, and the software development lifecycle to strengthen overall team capability.
Required Qualifications & Skills
6+ years of experience in an IT quality or software testing role, with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional project teams.
Comprehensive knowledge of testing processes, including functional, regression, automation, and user acceptance testing, applied across multiple phases of the systems development lifecycle.
Solid experience in testing programme management, including the design of test plans, scripts, and strategies for complex application environments.
Ability to analyze requirements in depth, translate them into structured testing approaches, and ensure all applications meet established quality policies and standards.
Clear and confident communication skills, with experience engaging and influencing colleagues across technology and business functions, including senior stakeholders.
Familiarity with quality risk identification and the ability to assess the impact of decisions on system integrity, business continuity, and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent university-level qualification in a relevant field.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline.
Hands-on experience with both manual testing techniques and automated testing frameworks, with the ability to apply each in appropriate contexts.
Awareness of current industry quality trends and the ability to assess their applicability to an enterprise technology environment.
