This role owns the execution of physical security, operational security, and information protection in support of classified operations at a fast-paced, mission-critical facility.
You will manage day-to-day security operations at your assigned site, direct onsite security personnel, maintain compliance with government accreditation requirements, and protect National Security Information and critical infrastructure from insider and external threats. You will operate independently, triage competing priorities, own security related projects and deliver responsive support to both internal Amazon teams and external government customers.
This position reports to the Cluster Security Manager and partners closely with Data Center Operations, Industrial Security, the Security Program Management team, and government customer security representatives.

Key job responsibilities

Direct and manage onsite security forces to execute daily data center security operations
Create, implement, and communicate security requirements at a large, government-accredited, multi-facility data center campus including oversight of cleared escort operations
Perform and support the operations and maintenance of security hardware and systems deployed onsite, including access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance
Manage and participate in on-call rotations in support of alarm response, security incidents, escalations, and critical service outages
Provide after-hours management support and participate in emergent event response

Program Security & Compliance
Provide comprehensive security guidance across physical security, operational security, and information protection disciplines
Conduct security incident investigations
Support the classified material program to ensure procedures align with internal and customer security policies
Execute compliance processes consistent with AWS policies, standards, guidelines, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements
Participate in recurring security audits, inspections, and reviews conducted by internal teams and government customers
Draft and review security documentation including notifications, standards, procedures, and concepts of operations (CONOPs)

Physical Security & Risk Mitigation
Proactively identify physical security requirements, potential vulnerabilities, and solutions to sustain and enhance site security posture
Plan, conduct and participate in security response drills and table top exercises
Apply knowledge of ICD 705 (Fixed Facility SCIF Construction), ICD Chapter 7 (Intrusion Detection), Chapter 8 (Access Control), and related standards to site security operations
Coordinate with the Security Program Management team on security design, system sustainment, UL 2050 compliance, and capital improvement projects
Ensure security systems and controls meet accreditation standards and pass government inspection

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationships
Develop and strengthen relationships with internal teams (operations, logistics, engineering) and external partners (vendors, contractors, government customers)
Serve as the primary security point of contact for your assigned site, engaging both Amazon leadership and government customer security representatives
Coordinate with Industrial Security on access eligibility and workforce compliance matters affecting site operations
Coordinate with the Security Operations Manager on cleared escort coverage requirements and scheduling at the site level
Heighten security awareness and engagement across all site personnel through training, communication, and visible leadership

Financial & Vendor Management
Manage security purchase orders and contribute to financial analysis for security requirements
Assist cluster leadership with budget decisions related to site security operations and sustainment
Oversee contract security guard performance and ensure vendor compliance with contractual requirements
Support the extraction of performance metrics from workflow ticketing systems to inform data-driven decisions
